Another Kenji fan here! He has a cookbook out called "The Food Lab" - and even though I need another cookbook like a hole in the head, I'm putting it on my Christmas list.
I do not remember the details but sex / incest is a topic that runs throughout the book - there is a concern that a child born of incest will have a pig's tail and the many, many characters have a variety of sexual experiences. I don't think it's one incident that you could just have your ds skip. Do you have time to preview? It is worth reading (despite my imprecise recollections).
How about the stories of Jorge Luis Borges?
As I recall, One Hundred Years of Solitude has some sexual content, but not explicit, so you should consider whether that is an issue for you.
This is a two-minute video from The New Yorker in which one of their proofreaders explains her copy-editing decisions (in this case, omitting commas):

It is promised to be the first of a series.
Last year, shortly before Thanksgiving (and arriving relatives), I opened up a long-unused sofa bed to find it teeming with bugs.
Once I stopped screaming, I called the exterminator - who had me text him a photo for the invaders (who turned out to be carpet beetles).
I feel your pain!
Because the spirit of Christmas is ... breaking the hearts of four-year-old boys.
All sarcasm aside, I would be livid. How could a four-year-old "ruin" a Christmas concert? If he had a meltdown, you would remove him from the room ... and every other sane adult in the room would sympathize and reflect on the many other school performances they had seen which did not go quite according to plan. Sheesh.
I told DS9 that on his half-birthday I would cook him something he liked for dinner. "That's OK, Mom. I can't really think of anything," he replied. Then, suddenly, he had an idea: "NO CHICKEN!"
I participated in one twenty-odd years ago and found it to be an amazing experience. It was my first extended time away from home and it was really broadening for me to meet students from across the country.
