  1. Full body massage today... my late Mother's Day present to myself

  2. I did not get to make the phone calls and ended up taking a load of children to church last night. No more sleepovers during the week for our ps kids... ear piercing in the middle of the night? Really?? I did clean up the mess they made in the kitchen this morning and shut the front door! Now for my bill paying etc... Art/PE starts today and I completely forgot we must rush to get home today for the Bookmobile. I plan to stop and buy some pizza's at Aldi's since Trail Life is also tonight! Math and car schooling today will have to do!
  3. Slow starting day... I went back to sleep and still need a Hot bath! DD 10 prepared breakfast and coffee ( Love Crunch and Stonyfield WM French Vanilla Yogurt) DD 10 got the mail and I sorted it ( exciting to get an Art History book today!) I must block off 1 hour to pay bills online, check on a hotel reservation and cancel the Disney club School: Science dvd, TT math, Phonics/ Copywork and Latin Laundry 2 loads Organize boys closet and toys Plan supper ( I need to delegate more help with this) Leftovers for lunch ( Lasagna (I learned to make in college) or Baked Salmon) Get ready for our Art/ PE co-op tomorrow and plan a short visit to a park
  4. Thanks for the tips! The Aldi's is only 2 years old and not far from the HUGE Meijer's they are building ( Right next to Menards) I will try to get the App. I usually go to Kroger's, Big Lots, and WM if I have to. I like the Kroger points to save on gas too. The Meijer's is supposed to be opening in May. I am excited!
  5. Prime Rib .... MMMMMM!!!!

  6. I knew I had it but still had to have the surgery to diagnose it. I ended up feeling better for a short while ( after the Dr. cleaned me out the best he could). I told him to go ahead and remove anything he needed to like my ovaries or uterus... he would not. After another baby and almost dying... then feeling ok while nursing .... then having the most horrid year ever, I had a hysterectomy and begged to keep my ovaries. That was 1 year and 4 months ago.. no major problems at all. I am certain I have endo in my intestines still so I do have some problems but I think my diet and stress can trigger those... I have to be careful. Hugs and prayers!

Wow! A bank account. Budget yes, but a separate account. Never thought of that.

Buying a house because it is 300 feet away from a library :) Reading in a library from 10am to 9pm and forgetting to eat.

  8. Mother's Tea was fun last night!

  9. I just got my VItamix this year from the company. It is Refurbished but looked and worked like brand new. I also got a hardback Recipe book, a dvd, and starter booklet. It was great making monthly payments with no interest. And It is the newest version with the taller pitcher. I love it! Mine is Red to match my Red Kitchen Aid.
  10. I have wheatgrass in cubes in the freezer to make any smoothie a green one.
  11. The last co-op day of the year is Friday! We have a surprise guest speaker... a historical actor... and potluck. Wow!

  12. I have to cook Thanksgiving Dinner and I love the Cranberry sauce so I have to make a trip to the store for Cranberries, oranges and I have raw sugar. I have to buy a pecan pie too... I don't have energy or time to make one. Lazer Tag tomorrow night so that is incentive for doing the three R's today... I hope. I am so sleep deprived it is hard to remember so I need to write notes again ( reminders) I will go to the Boxes of books and drag out all of the Thanksgiving books to peruse the rest of the week. Sticking to tradition, I will not even get out Christmas decorations until after Thanksgiving! It may even be next week!
  13. We too are very limited on internet. I won't be able to do many lessons at all this year unless we visit our library or other free wi fi enabled business. DD 10 did enjoy the first few lessons. We joined a co op and have a different history cycle to learn about so that threw me off too. We signed up late and got American History instead of cooking. It is a great co-op and all day so I am just going with it and counting my loss.
  14. Audio books this week on American history, Reading and Math lessons daily since we are behind. I am cooking the Turkey on Wednesday and keeping it simple. We were so blessed to end up with 2 free turkeys and a lot of canned foods ( One from dh's work and one from a church our children visit!) I already bought a turkey so we have 3! I am thawing 2 out and giving one to a dear friend. We take off days the ps does since we have 3 dc in ps. It frustrates me at times but it is not worth the battle. I need to work on the planners and record book today and find my keys!!
  15. I hope it scared the mom enough to watch better next time... phones are tucked away if I am out in a busy place.
  16. This sounds horrible but South Park has a show dedicated to Hoarding... it is eye opening! Hoarding is a deep issue. I have problems getting rid of books, and sentimental items. It has taken years to get to the point that I resist buying things that we might need and getting rid of things that we have not used in over 1 year unless someone in the house can use it. Is there a place for everything in our house... probably not but we do need more furniture now. I do what I can and encourage everyone to help give away items or sell items every few months and of course clothes with the changing seasons. There are many books on getting organized.. one by Emily Barnes taught a simple method: work 15 minutes a day on one space at a time, give away, throw away, and keep
  17. War Room Friday was great with my husband! Bat night at Mammoth Cave was Awesome with the family! Church - Spaghetti dinner served by the Youth was divine! Taking the kids to see cousins, swim and hang out topped off the weekend!

I really wanted to get to it last weekend but we didn't make it. Would an 8- and 10-yr-old like it?

  18. We had our first Field Trip to tour the Nina and Pinta ships and lunch in the park!

  19. I used Noni Naturals for several years. Now I am using this Hyaluronic Acid Serum http://www.amazon.com/Hyaluronic-Acid-Serum-Anti-Aging-InstaNatural/dp/B00K2O3NV2/ref=pd_bia_nav_t_1?ie=UTF8&refRID=174PK4QAEARP5D8GR0NV and I love it! It absorbs fast and feels great! I am on my 2nd bottle in 4 months. I also got one of these: http://www.amazon.com/Roller-540-Length-best-Face-ultimate-Reduction-Titanium/dp/B012XO2OZ4/ref=sr_1_21?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1440006670&sr=1-21&keywords=derma+roller I have used it one time so far. I forgot to add that I really like Oil of Olay BBB cream ( tinted with sunscreen)
  20. I got an email today and wonder if anyone on here has used this Philosophy curriculum. Any Pro's or con's appreciated! http://homeschooladventure.com/shop/philosophy-adventure-deluxe-bundle/ TIA
  21. I signed up for a VP History class this year we can all watch. I bought the Pages in History book to go along with it. This gave me the push to sell a lot of History books! Inter library loan works sometimes to "look" through a book and see if I really want to buy it. I tried a Kindle and hated it. I can read some pdf files but just prefer a book in the hand, It was easier reading on a device while nursing but I am through that phase. I gave myself 2 corner bookshelves in our bedroom to fill up... it has been harder having so many books to choose from!! Dusting is a chore too! I boxed up 5 boxes of books to put on my desk in the basement. ( One for Science, on for Writing, and 3 for History: Ancients, Middle Ages, Modern) If we learn well with VP online classes this year I am sure I will have less books in the basement. I do have 1 pitiful box of books we loved too much I cannot part with and plan to repair soon. Do you have any hobbies to distract you from buying books? Gardening wears me out and I read about Organic Gardening on blogs and subscribe to Mother Earth News. I am considering finding a group or starting one on Facebook. I only have one book on Gardening so far! Square Foot Gardening was my starting point in organic gardening. The Mother Earth website, magazines and emails help me tremendously! I just thought a hobby might help distract you if you are obsessed with books.. it has been a CHORE for me to box up books at least 10 times this year! I had books all over the place though... with 8 children... in every room, closet and bookshelves everywhere. Some books were ruined in our basement in the Spring so I had to get busy. Another rule in spending is waiting 7 days..... Do you still want it after 7 days? Amazon also is promoting gift cards to save up for big purchases. I am a Recovering Book A Holic.... I did just purchase a Classic books ds cartridge and it has several books to read on the ds :) We also like to listen to Your Story Hour when we are busy!
  22. I have taken loads to a home school consignment shop this year! And now I am using some of that $$ to buy more educational toys, games, dvd's and books for us to enjoy! Most of what I am buying is replacement pieces ( people, cars and planes) for little people sets, art, a board game, and dvd's to supplement learning. I try to read 1-2 books a year on home schooling or just peruse TWTM and read a few "difficult" classics. We have co-op classes, fees, and many field trips planned this year so I am struggling with what to buy and what to sell to help make our year better. We have too many field trips to choose from this year and that amazes and peplexes me. I am trying to fit in one affordable field trip per month. A weekend of camping as a family is in the works as well. :grouphug:
  23. I am going to look on i tunes and see if there is any Teen Therapy listed. DD15 listens to sleep radio on her phone now. This helps her get to sleep, and that is great! Having 3 Teens, 2 Tweens, and 3 young ones is a melting pot at times... we have just had all of the holes in the walls and ceiling repaired! Honestly I am glad that 3 of our children are in PS this year and 1 is working full time. I got the Wii U repaired and we now have a nice Treadmill.... I think I forgot the punching bag... we have had 2 so far. My sister is selling Young Living Essential oils now and she uses Peace and Calming in her young girl's room... she says it helps them and her 2 yr. old go to sleep and sleep longer too. I have only used the Thieves spray to clean with but may order the kit to get the diffuser and try more essential oils. Bio Feedback was my favorite exhibit in a National Psychology Convention I was able to attend in College. A combination of smells and sounds in a booth was very relaxing and enabled me to be still and calm. I wish I had a room with one of these and essential oils for every mood. Maybe I could make a sort of "Booth" we could take turns in. My boys don't talk to me as much about what is really bothering them although sometimes they surprise me. It is important to listen to each child when they are ready to "talk". Sadly, it is usually late at night when our teens are ever ready to talk.
  24. Gardening is a slow process... but worth it!

Sorry I have been busy... We are making raised beds this year :) I try to grow many organic and heirloom herbs, vegetables and fruits. We just had a lot of excavating done to our land so I have 5 Goji berry shrubs to plant this week.

  25. Super Charged Science Dvd's are ok here. Aurora Lipper has sales a few times a year via email..and online courses are also available.
