  1. When we bought the whirlpool cabrio the salesman told us the maytag bravo was basically the same machine, both are made by whirlpool. I'm not sure if this info is correct.
  2. I had a whirlpool cabrio and it was a piece of junk. It broke twice before the warranty was up. A few months I bought a Speed Queen washer and dryer. I absolutely love these machines! I bought them because so many people on this forum recommend the brand.. My Speed Queen washer cleans better than the cabrio ever did. My clothes are fresh and clean. I also like that the wash cycle only takes 28 minutes. There isn't an annoying lid lock. That's one thing I hated about the cabrio it would take an hour for a regular wash cycle and the door would lock immediately so it was a pain to add things after the cycle had started. Speed Queen comes with a three year warranty. :thumbup1:
  3. My DD16 has always suffered from car sickness. Her doctor recommended eating something before a trip, it gives the stomach something to do. He also recommended that I give her Benadryl before trips.
  4. That's strange. I have four indoor dogs and none of them do this. I found this. http://pets.webmd.com/dogs/my-dog-always-thirsty Maybe your dogs are getting too much salt in their food?
  5. Nope! My DH loves to hold onto everything.
  6. Congrats! I recommend doing this! This is what I did with my severely dyslexic son and a year later, he's now reading. My son is a 5th grader and this time last year he was reading at a beginning 1st grade level (more like a kindergarten level). Working with him one on one at home has done wonders for him. If I had left him in school, I have no doubt, he would be illiterate.
  7. My DD is in 10th grade and is just finishing up Macroeconomics. I'd like for her to take an English or math class but she doesn't have a valid ID for the placement test. This summer two of my DD's plan on taking a History class. We are finding it really hard to get into classes because high school students have lowest priority.
  8. I don't drink coffee, but I did give up all caffeine while I was pregnant with my four kids.
  9. Earlier this year my DD16 was diagnosed as having pre-diabetes. I took her to the doctor and requested a blood test because she had a brown rash behind her neck, which is a sign of insulin resistance. Her doctor referred her to a child nutritionist who gave her a low carb diet to follow. She's lost 25 pounds so far! The plan is for her doctor to order more blood tests this summer after she's dropped a few more pounds. OP: I think you should try diet and exercise. Go to a nutritionist and get advice on how you should be eating.
  10. When my step daughter had problems with constipation I'd give her a prune or two to eat. If she really got stuck, I'd have her drink some prune juice. My MIL swears by a prune a day. My DH takes Pearls, which are probiotics. He takes them to help control yeast overgrowth.
  11. I love all the Britney Spears' perfumes. :blushing: They smell so good. My old favorite is Boss Intense by Hugo Boss for women.
  12. Good info to know! I've never heard of this before. I actually found out about taking Chelated Zinc from a magazine article, I think it was Woman's Day, but I'm not sure, it was a very long time ago. The dosage they recommended in the article was 50-90 mgs daily. WebMD recommends taking 30-135 mgs daily for acne. According to LiveStrong
  13. I have three girls. They are all readers, they read everyday, and would read all day if I let them. The Warriors Series Magic Tree House Series Harry Potter Nancy Drew Mysteries Series Little House on the Pairie Series
  14. 50 - 100 mgs daily. I have my girls take 100 mgs. This works so well, you should see results in less than two weeks. This has to be taken daily, if a person slacks off the zits will come back. The zinc can upset the stomach so I recommend taking it after eating.
  15. I have my girls take "Chelated Zinc" for acne. They all have gorgeous skin. My experience is the zinc has to be chelated or it won't work.
  16. For fluency I'm having my DS read Pathway Readers. I haven't heard of the other things.
  17. Wow that's cheap! This month my electric bill was only $202, that's the lowest it's been in years. We have this same system. Our barn has a separate electric bill and it doesn't get the tiered system because the barn doesn't have a separate well (that's what PG&E told me) and we pay $0.21/kwh.
  18. This is how I fold my towels. I make sure the ends don't show.
  19. I'm with you on all this. My kids are older (youngest is 12), my DH commutes an hour to and from work, and my house is cluttered. I do managed to cook a nice dinner every night and have it ready by 6 pm. I always have ingredients on hand to throw something together for dinner. On Sunday I make a menu for the week and then go grocery shopping either that afternoon or Monday afternoon. I post my weekly menu on the inside of a kitchen cabinet so everyone can see what's on the menu. I also recommend finding a few quick recipes and always having the ingredients on hand for days for days when you don't have anything planned for dinner. I have no advice for keeping a neat and tidy house, I struggle there myself. I have a housekeeper come in every other week.
