  1. Addison's disease (prediagnosis so far) 1:100,000. Primary Adrenal failure and lifetime steroid dependency.
  2. I'm cleaning, organizing and purging in my art room
  3. Or the suburbs. There are some great areas. I grew up in Minneapolis and now live in the suburbs. I miss parts of city life, but like the space I have. The further out you go, the less diverse IMO.
  4. Dropped off youngest at theater practice. DH and I are getting taxes done. Will go to a record shop and meet up with his parents and sister for lunch. Eldest has a cold they are fighting on top of the not feeling well. Update on eldest. MRI was clear, cardiology cleared the heart structurally and functionally, endocrinology ran tests, all labs were within normal range, so they won't call it Addison's now even with positive antibodies. Dr says to check labs again in 6 months. But, kiddo is not fully functional, so it might be a long road until their adrenals finally quit. Reading diagnosis stories, so many begin with "I was sick for many years and was finally diagnosed" usually that is when the body is in a crisis. So we are going to have to figure out a new normal and watch closely for red flags.
  5. Happy birthday @mom31257! Got some unpacking and reorganizing done. Kids did their thing...Dh and I took a midday break and went to grab a pizza from a food truck and a drink at a local brewery. Brought some things to SIL's and she made chili for supper. Watching Space Balls now and I will work on a grocery order.
  6. Taking kids to activities. Will eat supper at SILs house. Not sure what else we will get done the rest of the day... If nothing else, I will work on unpacking my art stuff
  7. 2-5 business days for imaging results. A longer lab test is scheduled for next Tuesday. Hoping it can guide treatment and the endocrinologist will be on board.
  8. On autopilot these days at school. Eldest is still having issues. A few things have been ruled out, we have one area that needs further investigation (labs, etc). And some imaging today to rule in/out the cause. Will grab pizza tonight after the appointment.
  9. Thank you for sharing. Thinking of you as you remember your mom today.
  10. Quoting myself to say that this is for specialists. My kiddo who has to see a pediatric endocrinologist and a pediatric cardiologist versus just an endocrinologist or just a cardiologist. They actually see a family practice doctor for their regular care and haven't seen a pediatrician in over 5 years. Pediatric specialists here sometimes keep patients who are established until age 21, but that depends on the practice. What stinks for us is that if it was four more months from now when they turn 18, my kiddo could just establish themselves once with a specialist provider and not have to switch.
  11. We have found that they won't accept them as a patient. My kiddo is only 4 months from being 18 and we are still shuffled through peds.
  12. I've been up since 2, thank you insomnia. Endocrinologist appointment is this afternoon. I need to plan next week's lessons, but it's hard to focus.
  13. Went to work this morning. More Dr calls... decided to bring eldest to ER, so we are waiting there now. Once I know protocol, I will be way more pushy at getting in vs waiting upon arrival. Got a call Friday evening with a diagnosis... Addison's. Needing to get IV steroids to hopefully jumpstart feeling better and then meds for life to maintain.
  14. I empathize. I've been running on autopilot all month and some days are more like that than others
  15. Putting together my studio space. I found a neat cabinet on marketplace and might go see it.
  16. Today I worked on a plan for the new office/hobby space. We went to IKEA to get a few things. We got some of the Ikea stuff assembled tonight and some things brought upstairs that will go in that room. Eldest had a friend over, youngest had their boyfriend over and then they went to snow daze.
  17. That's a tough choice! I would like to do a few things, but alas with the painting upstairs, things still aren't all put together. Maybe I will get out my felt heart garland and hang that .
  18. Finally at the end of the week. I've been cleaning in my classroom while my students have a work day. Cardiology called for eldest and so we have an appointment with them for the 19th (if we don't find something else out in the meantime). Endocrinology is next week and an MRI is on the books for the 9th.
  19. On the plus side, I made instant pot Philly cheese steaks and they were good.
  20. I'm overwhelmed. We are trying to navigate some dizziness eldest has been having for 3 weeks now. I had a million phone calls today and we've been trying things and seeing Drs so far with no answers. I will probably have to call the clinic again tomorrow because there was one weird symptom that I forgot to mention. Can't wait. So that has made work hard since I've had to miss a lot and I can't focus... We are also trying to get this upstairs bedroom set up and stuff moved in and out of my sister-in-law's place but that is going slowly because of everything else going on.
  21. I've lived in the Twin Cities and suburbs my whole life if you have questions. We have a Post Secondary Enrollment Option PSEO for high school Juniors and Seniors which is free books and tuition for college. Even private colleges. My two should graduate with AA degrees. If you happen to know what you might want to major in you can often tailor those 2 years towards a future bachelor's degree as well. ETA... Are you looking at Minneapolis specifically or suburbs?
  22. Changed the truck battery. Thankfully sil has a tuck under garage that stays warmer. Not sure what else we will do today. I have to do a couple of tasks for school (I'm not one to take work home, but I had to leave early a couple of days so I'm just making up for that).
  23. Got my desk assembled. Working on gathering ideas for the rest of the space ( mixed media and quilting studio).
  24. Found the screws to the desk and wrote down names of several IKEA things. Will work on an actual plan for the room now.
