Who's Tackling Saturday Dec. 2, 2023?
LifeLovePassion replied to math teacher's topic in The Chat Board
Last night's concert was great! We saw Bush. Today we are working on rearranging some things between the upstairs and downstairs and assembling furniture and getting the Christmas decorations in order. We will probably have pizza tonight and watch the new Indiana Jones movie. -
End of trimester grading day. I'm working at home. Grades are done, working on prepping next week. Will likely work on a few house things after I finish with school stuff, then dh and I will head out to a localish casino for a concert later in the afternoon. It's a little over an hour away. We will find a restaurant along the way. I will be up past my bedtime since the concert doesn't start until 8.

We use Google Keep also.

@HomeAgain what ornament pattern are you knitting? My day was busy. 2 teachers and my principal were gone today, there are only 7 teachers total, so it was just busy. Went smoothly in spite of that. Put up the new Christmas tree. I feel underwhelmed. It is so small compared to the one we had (still have but decided to downsize since it is so wide). I was going to put on lights, but I'm not feeling it. New tree is nice for what it is, but I'm still working it out in my head.

Christmas stuff is not all up yet. I love my tree, but it is too big for our space. The bottom branches are probably 5 feet wide at least. Might go get one tomorrow. Have 5 bags of clothes to go to others, 2 bags of books, a box of old electronics, and a couple more boxes for goodwill. Was able to put a few things on buy nothing over the weekend as well.

We purchased but haven't used yet stuff from chemical guys on Amazon for car leather. It is pretty well rated.
-
Made zuppa Toscana soup for lunch then will keep getting things out. Eldest will even go pick up youngest so I can keep working.
-
Groceries ordered. Eldest is dropping off youngest. I just opened the closet under the stairs to get out Christmas decor.
-
Maybe get the tree up. Taking youngest to a friend's house, pick up order at Target. Place grocery order, plan meals. Do a couple work things, maybe.
-
Christmas ornaments, pj's and cards have all been ordered as well as band tshirts for a band we are going to next summer. Ordered the kids new sheets as well.

Today was busy...moved lots and cleaned up. Kids rooms are almost done now. Need to move a couple of things before we can get to the tree. I really could use a whole week off. I'm pretty burnt out and work is busy.

Spent much of the day moving stuff around and purging. I wish I had a solid week off to get the house back in order. It is taking forever, worse than moving I think because we kept some stuff out during remodeling and packed some stuff, so we are finding the same category of item multiple places so it makes extra work when we find more of something to reconfigure how things are. But we ended the day with SIL over and we watched Elf. Tomorrow, hopefully we can put up a tree. I know we have a little more moving furniture to do. We will probably go drop stuff at the thrift store and hubs will go get some pieces for the low voltage boxes to finish those connections. He also has snow blower belts to swap out.

Ate some pie and we are watching Planes, Trains and Automobiles. Found Christmas PJ's for the teens and some sheets they need for their new rooms. Will order their ornaments for the year on Small Business Saturday from Etsy.
-
Got stuffing put together and headed to SIL's. Watching the parade (recorded) and getting a few things ordered (new sheet sets for the kids), annual Christmas ornaments and a handful of other small items
-
Ingredients prepped, will throw it together quickly in the morning and then help with day of tasks at SILs.
-
Need to assemble homemade stuffing. Will do that after supper tonight.

One of our favorite trips that we go on is to the North shore of Minnesota. We do not stay on lake Superior, but rather a small inland lake in a rustic cabin with no running water. We spend time reading, fishing and exploring local trails and state parks using the cabin as a Basecamp. Not sure if anybody can think of anywhere similar that we can explore.

We are looking at possibly going on a road trip at the end of December into the new year. We are big hikers and also enjoy fishing, but would need to rent a boat or kayaks. Is there any destination or multiple destinations in one of these states you'd go to? We could camp, but would prefer at least a camper cabin set up (with a basic structure with heat and electricity and access to a restroom). I'm open to suggestions and thought what better resource to tap into than the hive.
