  1. Taking eldest to get labs drawn this morning since they had to be first thing (cortosol levels). Then will drop them at home and head to work. I have a late night with a new to district training tonight (last one, thankfully). So not looking forward to that and I will be dragging tomorrow and Friday (as has happened the other 5 times I've had 12 hour days due to that).
  2. Liver issues? Not sure, just spit balling since it is processed there.
  3. -2 here . Current windchills is -18. In case anyone is wondering, that is not cold enough to cancel school and my weather app says "very cold" and has a picture of an igloo. Need to make calls to make and cancel appointments for eldest during my prep time. One vehicle wouldn't start this morning (battery is old) thankfully with big not driving until we get things straightened out we are fine until DH can replace it. I'm thinking stuffed peppers or hamburgers for supper.
  4. We have under 2 inches on the grass. Roads are clear and dry, although black ice can be a problem when it is this cold. Other parts of the state both North and South of us have a lot more snow.
  5. Stay safe in your storms everyone. We only got a dusting in my part of MN. Although we have temps below zero with windchills hovering around -22. Emailed big ones teachers with a health update. Got the big one set up with some snacks for overnight glucose lows. I'm heading to bed I'm a wee bit overwhelmed. It is the last week of the term at my school and the new one starts next week and I have a lot to do.
  6. No, that would be a good idea for future. I thought I found them, but there weren't enough screws in the bag I found. DH might go look in his shop for something that will work. I think I took it apart 6or more months ago and then we did the basement remodel, so they could be anywhere
  7. Trying to set up my desk in the room we painted. If you were screws to put it together, where would you be?
  8. Bringing the big one back to the clinic today. The CGM alarmed low a lot last night. I'm very tired this morning. Other things to do include cleaning up the painting stuff and starting to plan the layout of said room that was painted (office/music/art space). Will probably be browsing the IKEA page looking for storage options for it. The maybe list includes: going to check out Mazda as a vehicle option but the high is below zero so burrr and/or going to the record store for some vinyl as they are having a members discount sale.
  9. Yup, my big one. Continuous glucose monitor. Didn't wake them up yet because the low bounced back up. I posted a bit more on yesterday's daily post, but blood glucose is one thing they are investigating regarding their ongoing dizziness.
  10. About to go wake up big because the cgm alarmed low.
  11. Woke young one up to eat/have fluids. Temp is 103.1.headache when they get up to use the bathroom, no other symptoms. Covid negative, only tested because we have a bunch, don't think that's it as of yet. Big has stayed stable most of the afternoon but said they were dizzy when sugars stayed in range but dropped fairly fast (around 130 to 97 in 15 or so minutes).
  12. Thanks all, it's been a weird journey. We went in Monday to the primary. Ran labs and cleaned wax out of the ears. There was a little fluid behind one ear, but not much. Stuff wasn't getting better Tuesday (so not wax throwing off balance )so I called and got a referral to the dizzy and balance center. They said 2-3 business days for the referral, so I called them myself and got an appointment Wednesday. Hubs took them Wednesday and then we got further appointments for PT and audiology as well as a referral to cardiology. The pt eval was Thursday and he said it wasn't the crystals out of place. In the meantime I talked to primary again because the dizziness seemed to start after a medication adjustment, but it is pretty rare of a side effect and not that severe (this has been hardly any school and no driving debilitating, extremely difficult with college level classes). They agreed that we could back off the med but then they brought up the fact that Monday labs showed low glucose (70) but they were not fasting and had eaten 2 dumplings and 2 small spring rolls about an hour the labs were drawn. She contacted the diabetic educator and they decided on a trial cgm to see what's up. DH brought big to college yesterday and during class went and got the cgm and ran errands. They put it on in the afternoon. This morning it dropped to 46 and then it did it again about 3 hours later. We, of course are treating the lows, but we could be onto something. Picked up some strips and SILs meter as the one we had does not sell strips anymore. So we will be calling Monday with that info and of course going in if we see a high that is too high. Might be canceling the audiology appointments.
  13. First coat of paint on. Youngest temp was 100.7
  14. DH and I are painting the main floor bedroom that the kids moved out of today so then we can begin transforming it to an office/art space. Just washed walls and he is taping off trim. We should be able to easily get 2 coats on. SIL said she'd cook us supper. Both teens are sleeping. Youngest isn't feeling well and oldest is on day 15 of being dizzy to varying degrees intermittently (checking all sorts of possibilities via various Drs, it's been a bang up start to 2024.)
  15. Radon system? We put one in before we finished our basement. We also put down insulated sub floor tiles before flooring.
  16. Took youngest to behind the wheel and the person was a no show, we stayed and tried calling every number I could find. Finally got a call back and they missed seeing her appointment on the schedule and couldn't come back. They rescheduled for tomorrow with the bonus that they will pick up/drop off at our house vs us having to bring her to the office to meet. Ate, looked at car videos with DH, as we are now looking at the Mazda cx 50 to see if it will meet our needs. It has a tow mode, so that is promising. Eldest is still dizzy, so I might start pushing for a balance center referral this week vs waiting another week. It is very incapacitating.
  17. Well, my first hour was underway and I had to leave to go get my eldest. They have been having dizziness spells the past 10days. They had to get to a college class and then had a Dr appointment in the afternoon. It has been waxing and waining and so it had been fine to drive, but then it increased too much so I left work. They did make it through the day. Met with a nurse practitioner. Had a lot of ear wax removed and labs run. Hopefully that helps everything resolve. I'm kind of mentally done now, but then youngest needs to be dropped at behind the wheel at 5:30 so no downtime for me.
  18. Put a chuck roast in the oven for barbacoa tacos this morning, just ate and it was yummy. Got stuff cleaned up from being gone and most of Christmas packed up today. Young one went to a friend's for the afternoon. Watching Gran Turismo now and maybe will watch another movie when it finishes. DH got some laundry done.
  19. Those are neither sweatpants nor jeans, and with those being the only exclusions, you are solid! They are sparkly and look amazing!
  20. I have an observation my next class period. I hate them. Will have to take big to the Dr...been having dizziness spells off and on. Articulation isn't their strong skillet, so they want me to go with vs going alone or with DH.
  21. Extra tired today. Got in about 10:30 last night after 8 days and 2912 miles on the road. Had to work today, but planned today to be a work day for my students so I could recenter myself. Tomorrow I have an observation (2nd of 3 for the year). Hopefully the kids will be engaged, which is hard to do at an Alternative Learning Center. Picked up some groceries on the way home and we had tomato, pesto, mozzarella, sourdough grilled cheese for supper. Watching a couple of recorded shows and chilling today, might get a grocery order placed, we'll see.
  22. Growing up, they were always like that for us. Sometimes they bubble, sometimes they needed help.
  23. @TheReader I did touch base with the leader a couple of days ago and he (not sure if he switched their group) assigned a leader with neurodivergent kiddos who I have been in contact with. I am hoping she updates me.
  24. Dropped big off. Hopefully their anxiety settles and they enjoy their week. I'm having a tough time knowing how difficult it is for them (and there are no phones allowed so I can't check in) and I hate anxiety. That is all.
  25. Ran an errand this morning. Drop big one off for an activity in a couple of hours.
