  1. And though guns are a common thing around here, I completely agree with the above. Not cool!
  2. Don't you love chicks? We've got 12 in the garage right now. I thought #3 looked like an austrolorp, but I'm not an expert.
  3. Depends on the age. I obviously wouldn't let my 7yo carry a gun around but my 17yo and his friends carry one around quite frequently. One of the beauties of being in the country - nobody cares! Squirrels make great target practice. :001_huh: (Or so ds says.)
  4. We always run a slight fever at the beginning of a cold AND allergies are pretty much just annoying without the run down sick feeling.
  5. I felt so bad for the guy in front of me at the pharmacy the other night. He was picking something up that required ID and they wouldn't let him buy it because his ID had expired! He was NOT happy. I buy Sudafed all year long whether I need it or not. We've got 5-6 people in our house who are big enough to use it but only 2 who are old enough to buy it. It makes me so mad to have a bad cold go through the house and have to go to the store several times because they won't let me buy enough for the whole family at one time. :glare: One of the bigger pains of having a large family.
  6. BS in math, getting ready to start my master's degree in the fall.
  7. You could try vitamin E on them too. That's what a surgeon told me to do once.
  8. That's a bummer! So what are you supposed to do if you've got several different kindles? I guess we can take turns for the free books. :glare:
  9. I've got a prime membership (which I love) and both of my dds "share" my benefits. My oldest dd wanted to borrow a book today that's free with prime, but she isn't able to because that's only for the paid membership not the shared memberships. Anyone else run across this? When I contacted them, they were very sweet and actually credited her account for the price of the book so she could BUY it. I just think that's kinda weird to not be able to borrow the free books as well.
  10. My MIL is the exact same way. My oldest dd is not small like me and I know MIL worries that she'll grow up and be FAT. She was always saying something about it. I finally had to tell her to STOP mentioning dd's weight or size. I had to be kinda rough with her because she tried to argue with me, but I've had enough! It's not healthy! (Yes, she would say things in front of dd!!) :glare: Can you tell her that you don't want that subject brought up again? For the sake of your relationship? What would she say?
  11. I get asked this all. the. time. We've got a group of teens involved in a political club and most of the time, I'm the carpool mom. When people find out one of the teens is my SON, they blurt out "how old are YOU?" lol! I take it as a compliment. :D
  12. You can come go with us!! Poor Remudamom! Living with a bunch of party poopers! :grouphug:
  13. :seeya: Us! And I guess we're one of the crazy ones because we're going at midnight tonight. :001_huh:
  14. Thanks for the info! Seeing as you've done this before and lived to tell about it, I'm sure I'll survive too. ;) Now your post has gotten me really excited!!
  15. Dd talked me into taking her to the midnight showing of Hunger Games. What am I thinking????
  16. Following the rules has taken the place of common sense. :glare: The stinker in our automated society is that she may not be able to override the system. It very well could be that the payment has to clear before she can do anything about it. Stupid, I know.
  17. I'm just now getting into shooting and finding that I LOVE it! I never pictured myself as a gun totin' momma 20 years ago, but I'm just waiting on the permit now. (Wearing my pistol as we speak. ;)) I'd like to start taking classes that would make it possible for me to TEACH same classes in the future. Especially to women. I figure if *I* can learn to handle a gun, any woman can.
  18. I don't think my dh will ever retire. He doesn't have a physically demanding job and likes what he does too much. There may come a time when he'll just choose to have less jobs to work on, but he won't ever stop.
  19. Or the line to the washing machine busts apart and water is flooding the kitchen or the power flips to the well in your new house (you haven't lived there one WEEK even!) and nothing is labeled on the box......in the dark........ Ah, yes, good times!
  20. Get your hormone levels checked! Sounds like low progesterone.
  21. I'm very sorry about your sister! I remember the shock when my mother was dxd with brain cancer and the dr was telling us all the medical-ese words. I had to write it down so I could look it up later. Crazy! Praying for you guys!
