  1. I have one child that gets a chronic cough every winter. It's extremely annoying to her (and the rest of us as well.:glare: ) Could it just be something due to winter??
  2. I called a compounding pharmacy and asked for the names of drs who prescribed armour thyroid and bio-identical hydrocortisone. LOVE my dr!!!
  3. :iagree: I handle stress WAY better now that I've been treating my thyroid/adrenals/hormones for the last several years.
  4. I've really tried to follow the "bent" of each child. My first was/is a natural learner. He only has to see/hear/read something once and it's learned. I started formal stuff early with him because he was so ready and just soaked it up. Now with #2, I just assumed that's what you should do and boy was I surprised!! It was with her that I learned about the better late than early approach. Though I about hyperventilated A LOT with her, I didn't push it and now at 14 you couldn't tell that she did things at a later age. The others are falling somewhere in the middle of these two and I'm good with whatever their style is.
  5. I think you have that backwards. :001_smile: A boy would eat those last 3 sandwiches. Ahhh, you mixed up the B & G in the bar graph.
  6. I'm assuming you've had your hormone levels checked throughout your cycle??? If your estrogen/progesterone ratio is off, it could be preventing you from ovulating. Also, have you checked your basal body temps?
  7. Yes, I would expose my 12yo and when my kids had it several years ago, I gave them anti-viral meds which lessened the severity.
  8. Most likely at our local university. I've also been looking at online programs but am just not sure about that yet. I probably need to take 1 or 2 classes to freshen my skills this summer and will hopefully start in the fall.
  9. I've decided I'm going to get my master's degree in math. 15 years after my bachelor's. I'm nervous!
  10. We moved up from 1600sqft to 2400sqft with 7 kids and love all the space. lol!! My requirements when looking were for the kitchen, dining room, and living room spaces to be large. They are. We're rarely in the bedrooms so I wasn't too worried about how big they would be. Granted, we have A LOT of outdoor space and my little kids are rarely inside if the weather's nice.
  11. We love our chickens! I think we have about 30. They do a good job of keeping us in eggs and even a few extra dozen to sell here and there. This time of year we leave their food down all day, but during nice weather we pick it up during the day. Having chickens is one of the things I never knew I would love!
  12. You need to change your screen name then. ;) I'd seriously be in mourning without milk chocolate!
  13. I've never liked tea very much....until I started hormone therapy. Now I'm hooked! :D Dh has pretty much stayed the same over the years. Ladies, get your hormones checked!!! I'm so glad I didn't go through my entire life wondering what the big deal was.
  14. I've always disliked snakes. Imagine my angst when oldest ds wants to get one!! We put him off for several years, but finally relented when a friend was getting rid of one that he assured me was docile. He was right. Now I'm not so afraid of them. I'll even hold ds's snake.
  15. The only options here are the 12 passenger van or the old, finicky stick shift. Needless to say, my ds hasn't been too keen on driving. Fine with me!
  16. YES! I just started several weeks ago as well. I never realized how much I would like it! My chiro has been trying to get me to lift for a while now but I put him off thinking I wouldn't like it. I wish I'd started years ago!!
  17. I let my little ones wake on their own but will wake my big kids if they're not going around 8. I'm not a morning person myself.
  18. How are your hormones and adrenals? Not being able to stay asleep is a sign of hormone imbalance.
  19. What are some reputable places to take online courses?
  20. I've got a bachelor's degree in math and am thinking about going back to get an engineering degree. What are some of the things I should KNOW before jumping into this? Things you wished you'd known before hand.
  21. http://journeytocrunchville.wordpress.com/2010/08/17/why-you-should-stop-doing-kegels/#entry Oops! Didn't read all the replies before I realized someone already posted it.
  22. I hadn't thought about it being colder than the fridge. Yeah, I'm sure it's fine then. The car sits outside all the time under a bunch of tree cover so the sun wouldn't even have been shining on it had it been warm enough to matter. I told ds he should thank his lucky stars it was so cold. We've had a very mild winter but the last 24 hours were pretty cold. I would hate to throw it away (though I would if it was bad) because I get my chicken from a co-op so I can't just go to the store and replace it.
  23. I discovered a package of chicken in my trunk that didn't get taken out yesterday. The temperature hasn't been above freezing since it was put in there yesterday. Do you think I can still use it?
  24. It's usually not the OB that has a problem with letting his patient go home early. Make very sure you have a pediatrician who is willing to sign baby out early or you risk a call to CPS. Ask me how I know. :glare:
