Has anyone used Math Mammoth 7 (A) yet?
4littleones replied to JessReplanted's topic in K-8 Curriculum Board
We started with another pre-algebra curriculum hoping that my daughter who is strong in math, will be able to follow and learn on her own because I am TOTALLY non-mathy. Well, at some point she hit a wall and I admitted defeat. We started MM 7A and we are having FUN doing it together. I am learning a lot and I actually look forward to our math hour. I can actually learn math! -
Other. We have settled with Memoria Press. It gets done, it is vigorous, they have online classes should we need them and the boxed curriculum will eventually go all the way to high school. Finally, I feel secure knowing that the course has been tested on real students in their school. I f these Highlands Latin School students can doit so can my kids.

Hello, can anybody tell me when/where Math Mammoth cover negative numbers ? Thank you

Hi all, I would like to thank all of you for your wisdom and encouragement over the years I homeschooled my children. You were all such an inspiration. I am not homeschooling anymore, rather I am afterschooling, and still lurk at the forums to learn about the best from the best- you. If you are a person of faith, I would ask you to pray for me. We are in yet another country and it is hard for me to find an identity. I have enrolled in another MA course (by distance) and I am looking for a job, which is very hard to find. My marriage is going through a rough patch, too. Finding a job would give me something to focus on. I am waiting to hear from a job this week. Please pray for me. Thank you.

Who is Using A Memoria Press Curriculum Package Next Year?
4littleones replied to WIS0320's topic in K-8 Curriculum Board
I have purchased the 4th grade plans. We will substitute math for Singapore and add some more science for my geeky science boy. I have also got the 2nd grade plans and some of the books. We will modify this too. -
AWWW! You are one lucky mama!

We are using NOEO Chemistry II for a 3rd grade, science lover, and I am surprised by the things we have learned. We love it! -
Motivational Time-on-task for kids?
4littleones replied to 4littleones's topic in K-8 Curriculum Board
That's great!! Thank you so much, I think I will try this. Perhaps have them loose so they can choose what to do when, and two pouches with "to do" and "have done". Thank you so much for taking time to respond! Any other ideas? How do you motivate your students? -
I am looking for a simple plan to keep my kids motivated to stay on task. We have tried planners in the past with medium success (some students are more list -checkers than others). I will be schooling 3 starting in June and I really need something to keep us all in track. We will do Memoria Press' curriculum bundles. I need something simple (cannot afford to buy any special equipment) and motivational :001_smile:. I don't want to be a dragon breathing fire on their neck, I want to be a loving mummy! I am tired of shouting orders "finish your math, don't go until you finish your history!" etc. They are quite capable of working on their own, if only I could find something to keep them on task. They are going to be in 5th, 4th and 2nd grade. Something like a very simplified version of workboxes? Please help me!

My 3rd grader boy does great with Latina Christiana I. :)

Yes, 3-6 would be great, unless a) younger siblings were were listening to an older sibling's science books and b) you have a very scienc-y 2nd grader. My 2nd grader son drunk up the Swimming creatures book.

My dd 8 fell off, had a concussion and broke her arm. Another friend broke one of his fingers. It didn't set properly and they had to operate to set it straight. Another friend broke his arm.

We are living overseas! Over the years we have used SL and HOD, and for next year, I am contemplating Memoria Press. MP is going to have an optional book list put together and you can order that in your box too. Mind you, I always supplement or tweek here and there so I need extra books. I found the bookdepository.com a good service with free international delivery. HTH :001_smile:
