  1. Here are some we like: http://www.songsforsaplings.com/ http://www.thevillagechurch.net/resources/music/ ^Two of those are specifically for children.
  2. From Wikipedia... I had no idea there were so many kinds of Midol, but I guess the one I am most familiar with is the "Complete." Either that or they have changed it. Last I knew, regular Midol was ibuprofen and caffeine. Excederin also has caffeine, but includes aspirin, which probably wouldn't be ideal with it's blood-thinning properties. But yes, they still make both Midol and Pamprin. HTH.
  3. Probably not. DW doesn't enjoy homeschooling, so once we move somewhere with decent schools, we will probably put the kids in non-homeschool.
  4. http://blogs.wsj.com/numbersguy/how-likely-are-sex-offenders-to-repeat-their-crimes-258/ http://www.corrections.com/news/article/24500-facts-and-fiction-about-sex-offenders
  5. Keep in mind that the plural of "anecdote" is not "data."
  6. Ok, there are approximately 78 million people under 18 in the US. 44% of ~208k is ~91,520. That means the amount of people under 18 who have had sexual assaults against them reported in one year is around 0.12% And that isn't counting multiple offenses on the same victim. So, the annual rate of reported sex assaults on minors is a little more than one-tenth of one percent. There are approximately 160 million females in the US, total. A simple majority would be just over 80 million. A great majority isn't really quanitifiable, but is somewhere higher than that. So, I think the statement in the original post is probably far from accurate, fortunately.
  7. First of all, do you have a source for the bolded statement? Secondly, if I were to observe this crime in progress, I would absolutely take immediate, physical action to protect any child. If it is a suspicion or a knowledge after the fact, I would let law enforcement know what I know.
  8. 8 weeks or so during basic training. Averaging once a month lately.
  9. I don't understand the question... Are you asking how long normally, or how long was the longest?
  10. Out of curiosity, why did the prospect of Disneyland Paris shutting down upset him so much? One thing you can do is watch behind the scenes features on movies and TV shows that show how they do special effects. Also, check out Video Copilot. It is a website that has tutorials for various special effects. That may help with video stuff, if he realizes how easy it is to fake something. Another thing you might do is try to explain things like bias, and how it affects peoples perception of reality. Echoing a pp, maybe you can try showing opposing articles or viewpoints on various topics.
  11. I am leading a Bible Study tomorrow on pretty much the whole book of Titus, but focusing on Titus 2 (and part of 3) and tying that in with 1st Peter 3:15. We answer the questions "What hope is Peter referring to?" and "How can other tell we have this hope? ie, What is it about us that makes them ask us for a reason for our hope?" Dunno if that helps or not.
