  1. I LOVE my iphone 5! I like it a lot better than the Galaxy.
  2. It snowed at our house yesterday! I agree it is not fair!!!!
  3. DH taking apart the dishwasher and cleaning the nastiness! The nasty is so, so nasty. Who needs kilts when I can watch him do this. :)
  4. Thank you everyone for your beautiful stories!
  5. I haven't watched season 2 yet, but my favorite from season one was the first episode. I loved the part when the mom refused to let them seperate her from her baby saying, "I will be his heat and he will be my blood!" I love how they put the miracles in with the tragedies.
  6. I was wondering what people would think of her now. I heard her speak once and she seemed really neat, very real instead MLM like :)
  7. I'm curious too! His website says he will be publishing several new books and proudly proclaims that he helped found GWU.
  8. We have an HE toploader because it was cheaper and we wanted to avoid possible mold issues. The toploader doesn't have to close with a gasket like the front loader to keep water in. Our HE toploader top is just like a regular toploader top so there is plenty of airflow when the door is closed.
  9. We have several Muslim families on our street and will certainly be giving them huge smiles if we see them outside. I don't know how they will feel about leaving their homes much, though. :crying:
  10. The plan for DD2 for this fall: SM EM B, onto MM1 if she works through it quickly OPGTR English for the Thoughtful Child BSFU Finish R&S Spanish 1, includes handwriting Sonlight Core A read alouds and possibly readers We will also have a weekly coop that has various enrichment classes.
  11. Do you do Sonlight P3/4 with her? It might help her feel like she is also doing school since her older brother is using Sonlight too.
  12. For purchase I would buy cuisenaire rods. They are so useful for so long! We have used all kinds of things for counting that we had around the house, utensils, toys, fingers etc.
  13. I'm so sorry that what these extremists did affects even more innocent people in this way! :grouphug:
  14. We do things just like your plan so far. Dd1 and dd2 did one book for printing and then we moved on to copywork. This year dd1 learned the cursive letters one by one and now I just monitor her writing.
  15. We used Elemental Science's Intro to Science for K and it would work well for a coop. This year in our coop I used some of RSO Life with first graders and it was fun. I will probably use parts of RSO Earth and Space and Chemistry in future years. There are activities to do and lab sheets that can be filled out. The Read and Find Out series are excellent as well. They often include some suggestions for activities to go along with the books.
  16. Yes! Yes, I would like help for words like those bolded where the meaning is changed. I know the rules for pronunciation, but a comprehensive list of those that fall into the same category as the bolded words would help me in teaching Spanish spelling to my dds. I did google in Spanish as well. These are some examples:
  17. Googling in English and Spanish is failing me. I'm looking for a list to incorporate into our studies. I found many partial lists, but isn't there an Academia de Letras who should have a comprehensive, up to date list? I know it changes sometimes. Spanish is my second language, but DH is from Mexico and our dds are bilingual. I do fine with the accents for verb conjugations and words that need the accent to be pronounced correctly like oceano (I can't figure out how to use the accents on my phone). But I need help with words like dia and mas which need to be memorized.
  18. DD1 is using Math Mammoth 2 this year and we both really like it.
  19. I need something to help with lit. I can't find what I want so I am thinking of combining some different programs. I would really like lit guides for the Sonlight books that are more detailed than the questions in the IGs. More detail about plot, setting, more discussion questions ect. I also have an Angelicum lit guide which I like, but I would also like more detail. Will Teaching the Classics help supplement and is it worthwhile for elementary school? Or is something like Figuratively Speaking or Deconstructing Penguins just as good, but cheaper?
  20. T-Tap and walking on the treadmill again for me. I do this Monday-Saturday. Last week I missed Thursday because I didn't feel well. I feel stronger and more energetic since doing this 6 days a week!
  21. We also have a used treadmill. We got it on our local classifieds which is similar to Craigslist. I did the same as Judomom and googled for reviews. I figured we could sell it for the same as we paid if we didn't use it. But we love it!
