  1. My 4th grader did very well with MCT Island and we are still going through the beginning of TC quickly. When the sentences ask her to label just nouns and verbs she is labeling almost everything the way we did in Island. Going through quickly is making it not be boring, but the approach to teaching the writing with the grammar is so good that I would go through it anyway. You could probably go triple or quadruple speed.
  2. I ended up switching dd9 to Rightstart E this year because it has fewer worksheets than any other program I was able to see (besides something on the computer) and I was satisfied that it would be solid instruction. She used MM, SM and Saxon in the past and really hated math worksheets. Math is going very well for her this year so we plan to continue to G in the future.
  3. Anyone have a link to the BOF parody? I loved the eyebrows in the Heirs parody!
  4. Yes, you want to! I need more hours too. Seriously, I laughed until I cried and only watched 10 minutes. The Heirs parody was funny, love the guys playing the female roles!
  5. Where are you watching Winner? I have to see a subbed Heirs parody! I think I am going to watch shows on my computer on viki from now on. I usually watch on my phone, but the app doesn't have all the awesome in episode comments. They are hysterical! These are my people. I tried it out with a drama I watched before, Fall In Love With Me, and when the guy came out in a ridiculous outfit a ton of people asked, "What the freak is he wearing?!" The person who asked if he was trying to be Little Lord Fauntleroy needs a prize. :smilielol5: Others commented that he was showing up Kim Tan with the funny clothes. :)
  6. Yes, City Hunter was very good. I really like the female lead, Park Min Young. They made a very cute couple. It seems to be one of the few revenge dramas that has a happy ending. :)
  7. If I had my way every final episode would include a wedding and adorable scenes with the couple and their cute boy/girl twins!!! I loved those scenes in Secret Garden.
  8. The food gets me everytime!!! It looks SO good and makes me so hungry.
  9. Chelli, the lack of communication is so common and frustrating! But without it there would be no story, lol! I'm watching You're Beautiful with my girls and we're having a blast. I've been thinking about what we'll watch next . . .
  10. Seriously! In my defense other posters brought it up. ;)
  11. I will have to try this in the bathroom with the plasticky tub. With porcelain tubs Lysol Toilet Bowl cleaner has been magic for me, but it does nothing for the plastic. What are you all using for daily wipedowns?
  12. I love the contrast in the women's reactions with some saying "Awesome!" and some saying "Perverts!", lol!
  13. I just started watching Rooftop Prince. I love it when one of them gets water from the toilet to put out the fire!
  14. I do this for my 6yo. I don't pre-plan it since she loves to pick her favorite part of the story to copy. (I do LOVE things that are pre-planned normally though!) Right now we are reading from the first book in the My Book House series so I read and then ask her what happened. She tells me her narration and then chooses a favorite part of the story to copy. I look at that part and pick out a sentence or two that she could read and then write it down for her. Later my plan is to progress to longer copywork and her writing down first a sentence and then her whole narration, not all this year I'm sure. I may start choosing the copywork eventually in order to work on things like using quotation marks etc., or maybe we will alternate days. If you are going to be choosing the copywork then I would personally pre-plan it since it would save some time. While I am writing down the copywork my older girl is working on math.
  15. Just liking this post was not enough, lol! My kids are sick today so we've been watching documentaries. Maybe it is time for some classic movies where mom can recite all of the lines. ;) I have several TC lectures and many, many books on my self education list. Our library system is very good, but I think the librarians will know me as the crazy ILL lady soon. :) They have a lot, but not enough. One thing I like to do is to read an adult level book, like SWB's history books, and also read a middle school level book ahead of my kids. This way I see an example of how and what to teach to that age.
  16. The demo listed on their website seems like it is for a school district. Does anyone know of any samples that I could view online?
  17. My 9yo is also finishing the story about Bushy. She loved it when I told her the author of the curriculum had crazy squirrels in her yard. :) I wasn't sure about doing the first section, but did decide to and we are having a lot of fun with it. It teaches the grammar in such a unique way.
  18. This is their facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/nobispacemhomeschool It seems to be a CMish curriculum in Spanish. From what I can tell on the page they are having some English books translated into Spanish; BSFU, Life of Fred etc. I hope they will have a large list of classic children's lit originally written in Spanish since I have not found much of that. The website does not seem to be working, but they posted a pic of the first week of plans on the facebook page. It looks like 1st grade. They have "Sobrino del Mago" listed for lit which I suspect is a translation of The Magician's Nephew. I am curious to see more samples and get more information though.
  19. I will not get sucked into watching another current drama, I will not get sucked in . . . :)
  20. I started listening and I can see why most drama songs don't make the cut, great playlist!
  21. I have way too many youtube playlists! I love that while a lot of the OSTs have fun songs a lot also have a more classical style. I really like the Bad Guy and Queen Seonduk OSTs. Heirs had so many good kpop songs too.
  22. Empire of Gold was very well done, lots of strong acting. I watched it because Lee Yo Won was in it. It was fascinating to watch the family dynamics. I wasn't impressed with Go Soo's performance, but the drama was still very gripping. Closeacademy, when I watched Queen Seonduk I so wished that it could have covered all of our school subjects! It was so hard to have to stop watching.
  23. Does anyone else have playlists with drama songs, not just rap? ;) Even my kids are getting into it :) I started watching Emergency Couple and it is really good. I'm also watching a currently airing drama, Fall In Love With Me, which I swore I would never do, but it is really good. The last episode airs on Sunday with the translation available Monday. I'm torn between relief at finding out how it ends and not wanting it to end, lol! I hate not being able to choose how much of it I watch.
