  1. I’m going in this afternoon to have my baby! I will update as soon as I can, but it may be tomorrow. (And who knows how long for pictures because I have the worst time figuring that stuff out!) Prayers and good thoughts are much appreciated. I am a nervous wreck. UPDATE: Hopefully this will work: https://flic.kr/s/aHskvA1PY1 We are probably going home today. :)
  2. I have three cats. They do what they want. I clean a lot. :) My mother in law has a cat that never jumps anywhere she isn’t “supposed†to.
  3. This past Christmas we were at my sister’s house when a helicopter landed in her neighborhood. (This was a medical call related to a house fire. Very sad story.) :( A couple hours later, we were back home, and we heard a helicopter landing right next to our house, in the neighbor’s yard. I thought “oh no, not again!†This time it was someone getting helicopter rides as their Christmas present. :)
  4. We had a friend that was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. He passed away last week after about 6 months. Even at the diagnosis, we knew it would likely kill him. I had the hardest time finding an appropriate card. I finally found one that was light-hearted (which definitely goes with his personality) but avoided “get well soon†because we pretty much knew he wouldn’t. :(
  5. In your situation, I’d definitely skip this season.
  6. We went this morning, because I know when the baby comes in a couple weeks, I will be missing a lot. We were walking down the stairs and DD7 was using the hand rail. It kind of freaked me out, because germs. I wouldn’t normally be like this, but there does seem to be a lot of otherwise healthy people dying this year. :(
  7. Oh, yeah, I’m not the least bit shy about asking people to wash up before holding the baby. Most people do it on their own I have found, but I will definitely tell them to if they don’t. :)
  8. I didn’t even think about the hospital having a policy. If they don’t, I will enact my own with no guilt. :)
  9. I’m scheduled for a repeat c-section in 2 weeks. If you were me, how would you feel about visits in the hospital? I’m thinking about saying no visitors except family - mostly because of the flu season, but also because I tend to go into hostess mode when people come to see me (yes even at the hospital.) It’s not really conducive to recovery and nursing/bonding with the baby. I probably should just do a poll, but I’m on my phone, and I don’t know how to do that from here.
  10. I voted 2, but I’ve been so tired lately that it’s definitely more.
  11. Probably. Especially since it’s a meaningful one. (I wouldn’t if it was somewhere that might prevent employment, I.e. face or neck.)
  12. We put ours up right after Thanksgiving, so we took it down yesterday. I was sad about that, but it’s nice to have the extra room. I like the idea of keeping it up until Epiphany, but it never works out around here.
  13. No way! Wednesday for us.
  14. I got married at 19, and it has worked out beautifully for us. When we became officially engaged, my childless uncle freaked out on my mom and told her she needed to stop me. She and I laughed about it, because there would have been no stopping us. Anyway, I’m sorry you’re getting those comments, and it sounds like you’re handling things well.
  15. I’m so sorry. :grouphug: Rupert is the sweetest doggie name.
  16. I will certainly pray. I love beagles - they are special dogs.
  17. I always do Pioneer Woman cinnamon rolls, but I’ll have to try Quiver’s sometime. :)
  18. Sandy/Sandra Trish Rhonda And, growing up, I was never the only Heather in the class, but I never hear of anyone naming their kids Heather now. :)
  19. I vaguely remember my Kindergarten teacher doing this. It’s not a tradition in my family now, nor did we do it growing up.
  20. We are going to be home for Christmas Eve dinner this year, and I am thinking we will order some platters from Publix. Probably a sandwich one, maybe a shrimp one, and then veggies and fruit. I will already have a ton of candy and cookies for dessert, and we will have coffee and sparkling cider.
  21. I’m so sorry. :grouphug: I will keep you and your family (and nephew) in my prayers.
