  1. BBQ pulled chicken or pork in the crock-pot feeds a crowd and easy on the cook. Get or bake buns, and serve with baked beans, also easy in a crock-pot a salad, veggie, chips and a dessert.
  2. I checked this out from the library years ago, and it changed how I think and approach keeping our home. 1. Sink Reflections by Marcia Cilley. No pictures, but very helpful in setting up your cleaning schedule into daily, weekly and zone schedules. http://www.amazon.com/Sink-Reflectio...1931826&sr=8-1 I think the library is a great place to look for the book that will click for you. And they're free, can't get better than that.
  3. bump We had to make some decisions and changes here for high school simply because of the time demands.
  4. Robert B. Parker and Elizabeth George both have plenty of books and series to their credit. Dh and I are both reading the Jesse Stone series and I'm reading Careless In Red. (Dh has finished George's series and recommend both to me.)
  5. I've pulled my copy of Square Foot Gardening out, but we still have oodles of snow on the ground here and more on the way. I'd love links to heirloom seed companies if anyone has them, it's never to early to catalog shop.
  6. I hope you all make it home soon. :grouphug: It just keeps snowing and snowing here. Every morning it's...or goodie, time to warm up the snow-blower and pull out the shovels. The rain, freezing rain were awful, I try to like the snow. I'd like to move myself...And I no longer drive 5-8 hours north to be with dh's family anymore. They are welcome to drive down here;) and think I'm crazy for suggesting it....:001_huh:.
  7. :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug: Getting our trees up after our Thanksgiving meal, motivates me to get rolling. I hope your plan goes well. I'd like to begin next year's shopping now, but I'm just not there yet.
  8. :grouphug:Wow..oh..my...gosh! Oscar, the Christmas miracle for your Emma. :grouphug:
  9. I'm in the planning mode here. Winter weather here affords me plenty of time for indoor reading, cleaning, but not much outdoor time.
  10. We have an Amana, freezer on the bottom with a pull out drawer. French doors would be a plus as the door on top is big for the future. Not stooping is a plus for me too and the deep door holds lots of big items, like gallons of anything and big jars, even a 2litre bottle can stand up in it. We also have a chest freezer and I don't stuff the drawer on our refrigerator. The baskets get heavy and stooping to dig isn't great on the back. If I didn't have an extra freezer, I might consider a traditional side by side.

  12. It doesn't work for your family, and that is reason enough in my book. Return, exchange or donate it guilt free, or bring it over with you every time you visit and let her dance away for their enjoyment.:D That link with the 4yo...I can only imagine that day after day. :tongue_smilie:
  13. Land's End, but they are already sold out on plenty. Hanna Andersson is another one I always check for end of the year sales.
  14. :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:Poor doggy. Prayers for the two of you. I hope she's okay.
  15. I'm glad they're feeling better.:grouphug:
  16. I enjoyed her article, I must must be a toad. My dd will appreciate it too, if I'm lucky. Thanks for linking it, Ellen.
  17. Uncle Bully, I'm glad he finally got it. Imo, that was typical bully behavior to continue when someone clearly asks them to stop. Ita with sensitive muscles aside, he was acting like jerk. I'm sorry to anyone offended by my labeling uncle ___ one. I have a low tolerance for bullies, but especially the adult ones who pick on children.
  18. We had to do something similar to option b overseas, using a matching ribbon to extend the length.
