  1. I take a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar a few times a day. Organic is much less disgusting as far as taste goes, but I've used both. Gargling with warm salt water also helps a bit. Hope you feel better.
  2. I'm started reading a few books for the 20/20/20 challenge, but my first book is Careless In Red by Elizabeth George. This book was a rec because of my fondness for PBS's Inspector Lynley.;)
  3. I think we have 3 Aldi's locally. They have inexpensive produce, but I moved onto locally grown, organic or at least US grown veggies. I'm also picky with milk and want only hormone and antibiotic free more local brand. I do occasionally still shop there depending on the season, in summer they stock local growers.
  4. I'm not feeling ready either. I'm going to make myself work fly-lady style for 15 minutes...right now. I hope you find the energy boost or motivation you're looking for.
  5. Here they tutor during school hours in the hallway due to limited classroom space. We also have before an after school programs for working parents that are monitored by a teacher or two along with volunteers or aides. They can work on lessons, but it's very noisy most of the time.
  6. I'm in for the encouragement, but will need to be creative with indoor exercise.
  7. I'm reading Careless In Red, by Elizabeth George this month along with Don Quixote, but that book may take all year to finish.
  8. Jm2cents This in some way validates the ability of an untrained homeschooling parents ability to teach. Our local elementary schools use volunteer reading mentors aka tutors every day.
  9. -15' this morning with an insane wind chill of -30'...One of our weather men is consoling us with the fact that it's colder in Fargo.
  10. I'm slightly freaked out by these, but think I'll purchase one to have on hand. Q, I hope you're feeling better.
  11. We use Netflix, but if a movie is special shell out the money for tickets.
  12. Thanks for the book rec. I'm going to read it and see if it might benefit my sister and her little one. It might offer some insight to me in dealing with my own son. Our library here has it.
  13. My top three... 1. Hearing this..."Charge it, that's what credit cards are for." 2. No, make that politicians. Gag...:tongue_smilie: 3. News readers telling me what I really need to think.
  14. :hurray::hurray::hurray: Way to go...I'm looking at my digital thermometer this morning and it's reading -15', according to the news the windchill is -30'. We've got cabin fever no ifs ands or buts... And I'm a weather wimp with the cold...
  15. Going outside is difficult here too, -20' wind chill today, with a high temp of 4'. This is such a difficult thing for me, but I'm using the treadmill. It hurts my knees if I go too long, but it is what it is. Make sure you are eating as well as possible. I drink tea now, warm or cold throughout the day. Any exercise is better than none. I'm going to put my 1 & 2lb weights next to my reading basket and see how that works. It isn't easy:grouphug:.
  16. We were watching a local hs quiz bowl the other day and they had a pop-culture category... The question was...drum roll... Angelina Jolee and Brad Pitt have how many biological children together?:tongue_smilie:
  17. I love Ree, but her recipes run a little too heavy for us. Now maybe if we were ranchers burning calories galore, we could eat like that on a regular basis. That said, if she came to my local bookstore...I'd stop in and buy a copy:001_smile:.
  18. I've watched the commercial for it and knew I didn't want to see it. :tongue_smilie:
