  1. We listened to this free on the overdrive app. It was wonderful! Check there to see if your library is on there.
  2. Dd11 tested super high in spatial and loves origami. There is some high level stuff out there and it is fun (and independent!).
  3. Awesome. Ita about beast! Just sent them a private fb message. One can hope?
  4. A good start is to read up on Socratic questioning. http://www.paideia.org/socratic-questioning/
  5. We have had a very positive experience sending our youngest to kindly while the older 2 have been home. He has his place to shine, not overshadowed by sibs who are bigger, faster, smarter etc. He has learned more self control there than he had at home and that has brought confidence. His fine motor skills are way better than they would have been had he stayed at home. Another benefit is that it has helped our family connect more to other ps families in the neighborhood. That has benefitted my homeschooled kids too. It is not perfect and we have had grass-is-greener at times. He is in 1st there now and is thriving. His teacher is amazing and has broadened his interests in many ways. We will probably bring him home b4 3rd but in the meantime having him there frees me to focus more on my middle who need me most now.
  6. I had my older dd do it alongside her younger brother (who was age appropriate) because she wanted to. It is worth the price alone for the interest it ignited. Then again my philosophy is that if you sell them on loving the subject your job is more than half complete.
  7. The other lady needs to toughen up. Life is not fair and there is no need for her to expect trigger warnings.
  8. Yes but only with survival swim lessons for the baby/toddler/preschoolers. Infant swim resource is the program we did. Pricey but you would give anything to take back a drowning.
  9. The istopmotion app is recommended by my dh. He works in the field. Our kids love it. $10 but worth it.
  10. We do cle and beast. Cle gives the procedures and practice; beast provides the inspiration, problem solving and challenge. My kids score exceptionally high in math as a result.
  11. It turned my 2 who have done it into math-loving kids.
  12. I got a lot out of educating the gifted and talented. (By Davis). It's a textbook and I bought an older edition of it. It is very comprehensive.
  13. I had an ablation last year. Now I use a pantiliner for 2 days. Wish I'd done it sooner.
  14. Thank you! I like the idea of TC because she can go at her own pace. She is very good at math but only 10 (almost 11). I don't want the pace of an online class to frustrate her. Tough decisions!
  15. Skrafty homeschool has a Minecraft periodic table class.
  16. I'm watching the tablet class demo right now and I notice the teacher mumbles a lot. Has this been a problem with anyone whose kids have taken classes there?
  17. This has been very helpful. How old is your daughter? My 10yo (almost 11) DD is very good at math and got a perfect score on the AOPS pre-a placement test. Wondering if we should take the plunge and do it online.

I had an umbilical hernia and incisional hernia (c/s) repaired the standard mesh way and both failed. I went to the head of the hernia clinic at the nearest teaching hospital and he did a very invasive surgery that fixed the hernias and the diastasis recti in one surgery. Instead of putting mesh under the abdominal muscle he separated layers and put the mesh inside the muscle and brought the dr together. Now it is fully healed and I have a great result. It was not a tummy tuck so fully covered by insurance.
  19. It's at the end of July. Anyone going? It has a fascinating lineup that includes homeschooling and 2E topics.
