  1. Yeah, I got that from the tip above. I was just saying that in my last post b/c it's something additional I will need to purchase. I guess I want the DE version? That's kinda why I'm posting this...to figure out what exactly I should buy.
  2. I have no idea. I'm new to all of this trying to make my way around their website. I guess I do notice that there isn't an option to add it to the cart. There is a "Print Edition" available but it comes on CDROM for $225 + whatever supplements you want. So now that I'm looking at their website and paying attention (lol), I would want/need the DE + Writing Aids + Evaluations + Map Aids. ?
  3. We love it! Like the others have said, short and sweet. And very inexpensive. We've always just used the student books, nothing more. I like that it doesn't look unnatural and isn't pretty. Think Zaner-Bloser and D'Nealiain...I don't know many people who actually write like that. To me the examples look like actual handwriting and to write it, it feels like actual handwriting.
  4. I want the Bonus Bundle. Am I understanding this correctly? I will get: - all 4 units - The Loom - Map Aids - My choice of an option. I would choose the Writing Aids. - A Bonus. I would choose Unit 1 Pop Quiz probably. Then if I want the entire set of Evaluations it would be an additional $50. And should I decide I want the full set of Pop Quizzes it would be another $50 or would it be $45 for Units 2-4 (is the one that comes with The Bonus the full unit?)??
  5. I did. We've done Getty/Dubay for a while but then switched back to HWT for Cursive.
  6. You don't have to answer these here but just to consider.....How high was your pulse compared to your baseline? Normal during pregnancy can be between 80-100. Have you had plenty of water? Dehydration can cause pulse to rise from baseline. If you didn't see your mw today, it's still worth mentioning to her. It's not normal to feel this way during pregnancy (as I'm sure you know ;)).
  7. Since the extreme exhaustion is new, it's definitely worth mentioning to her. Yes, chiropractic care should be able to help with that pain. If you caught yourself in a fall you could have also knocked your pelvis out of whack too (how's that for medical lingo? lol) so an adjustment would be beneficial even if for that reason alone.
  8. This post has been so helpful! I'm currently on the hunt for something to use next year when we start the cycle again. I'd love to have something that all four of my kids can use and be challenged with (does something like that exist? lol). So am I understanding this correctly: Both are a guide (similar to TruthQuest) that lays out multi-level lesson plans but you still have to buy additional spine books (i.e. SOTW)? And if I'm teaching multi-levels, in TOG each will need a different spine? TOG puts together and covers more than BP? I thought of one other question. We are currently using TQ AHYS III. We hate it. It. is. so. boring. Would we be able to pick up in Year 4 where we are studying now (WWII) or a little before and finish it? Then next year begin the cycle with Year 1. ?
  9. I'm so sorry you're having a rough go of it. :grouphug: Is this ligament you mention a round ligament? Have you considered chiropractic care? Has your doctor checked your thyroid levels? Has your hemoglobin/hemocrit also been checked? Both of those can lead to extra exhaustion. If your thyroid levels are off that can lead to other pregnancy-related health issues (i.e. PIH, PTL).
  10. All 6 of us have shared a room before. At one hotel they have a free breakfast. I was told the count is taken so they know how many people they will need to serve at breakfast.
  11. This scripture helped me through several difficult years of my dh being unemployed: "I was young and now I am old. I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging for bread." Psalm 37:25 I've never thought my children were an inconvenience..;)..but as a young mother it really made me stop and realize the importance of how I parent. You are not managing an inconvenience, you are raising a human being. - Kittie Frantz "....Speak your mind, even if your voice shakes." - Maggie Kuhn "Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind." - Dr. Seuss
  12. Sounds like the Swiffer Sweeper Vac. I LOVE(!!!!!) mine! Cleans the floor so much better than broom sweeping!
  13. I don't know if it's what you would consider self-soothing but I do progressive relaxation. Similar to what I used during labor and a coping technique I teach in childbirth classes. I get comfortable then do abdominal breathing. For whatever reason I always start with my feet and try to relax them as much as I can. Basically I focus on quieting my mind and making my body limp. If I don't have a lot on my mind I *always* fall asleep before I get to my calves. lol If my mind won't shut down I go take some homeopathic Valerian and go back to bed and try again. Some of my childbirth class students have come back saying, "It's not working! I'm trying to practice my relaxation but I always fall asleep!!" LOL! ;)
  14. Ohhh..I forgot that was tonight! I had to set it for the re-airing since we already had two things recording at 8pm. lol I KNOW I will cry. I was in tears watching the preview for it. A daddy in tears gets me every time!
  15. Yes. In addition to other things (i.e. birthday, some crafts...last week part of the craft was red gummy fish). I spoke to our children's minister to ask that my children (well, really it's just the younger three) not receive candy. The only exception I'll make and allow is the little treat for their birthday. We try to avoid food colorings and HFCS in our home. My kids LOVE these fruit chews so I bought a box for the SS teachers to use as an alternative. It wasn't a problem at all. She keeps several other alternatives for children who are diabetic or have other allergies.
