  1. Thanks, ladies! I knew you'd appreciate it. Most of my friends IRL aren't really into handbags, so I didn't have anyone else to share my happiness, (or great deal!) with.
  2. I'm running late this week, but here's my wrap-up!
  3. I'm so excited, and I knew that at least a few of you here would share my excitement, (especially because I blame this forum for feeding my handbag obsession)! I've been wanting a designer handbag forever, but I could never justify actually buying one. I've had my eye on this Kate Spade bag (in pink) for a while now, but figured it was just one of the many that would pass me by... Well, today I was browsing the Kate Spade website, and noticed it was on sale. DH happened to notice as well, (OK, I showed it to him), and confessed that he had been planning to go buy it for me when I'm in the hospital when the baby is born. So, he went ahead and ordered it for me today! :001_wub: I can't wait! And it's even more exciting since it ended up being almost 50% off with a promo code. :)
  4. What I don't understand is how she at no point mentions wanting to kill her husband. Because there are some times, when I'm awake in the middle of the night, listening to the snoring.... Too funny!
  5. It's OK. We had it until the first of the year. Co-pays (at least for the plan we had) were pretty high compared to what we have now, but the deductibles were OK. All of our doctors were covered under the plan, which was important to us. The biggest problems we had were with our pharmacy coverage. That was terrible. I'm relieved not to have to deal with that anymore.
  6. I don't think I could turn down anything that had the words "chocolate" and "overload" in it! ;)
  7. Posted mine--we had our 100th day of school today! Weekly Wrap-Up
  8. Very cool--ds will enjoy looking at that in the morning. (And then he'll probably be building his own Greek mythology sets, thanks to your inspiration!)
  9. We usually start at 8:30, because that's when I get back from dropping my younger ds off at his school. If for some reason we're all up really early, (say, for instance, the tornado sirens are going off at 4 a.m. and nobody can get back to sleep...not that I'm saying that's happened recently or anything), we'll start earlier, though.
  10. This is my favorite recipe. It won second place at our church chili cook-off last year--I'm hoping for first place this year! Three meat chili
  11. Other--Chicago style! I don't really even care what the "toppings," (that's not quite right, since they're inside the pizza), are...plain sausage is fine, other stuff is fine, as long as it's a Chicago style pizza!
  12. I missed this thread earlier...here's our wrap-up!
  13. I agree with getting a second opinion if you can. When we were in college, dh had a dentist tell him he had well over a dozen cavities. When he went to see someone else, he did have several, but no where near as many as were first quoted to him. I think some dentists just want more money, and, sadly, some just aren't very good...
  14. I chug it. Seriously. I hate plain water. I'm not worried about a particular number of ounces, but if I don't chug a big glass (about 12-16 oz., I guess) of water at least several times a day, I won't do it at all, and I can tell the difference when I don't. So, I force myself, and get it over with as fast as possible. I probably drink close to a gallon on the days I pay attention to it, but it's certainly not because I enjoy it!
  15. I budget $150 a week. Most weeks, I'm a bit under that, but every once in a while, I go over, so I guess it averages out pretty well. There are six (soon to be seven) of us.
  16. Whenever I publish a blog post, a link also gets sent out on my Twitter account, so if people aren't already following my blog, they know when I've posted something. Twitter is also something of a "micro-blog," which allows you to post very brief updates about whatever. So, I also have the blog thing set in reverse...every tweet I make also gets posted to a sidebar on my blog.
  17. I'm in the same boat as you, as I'll be having c-section #5 this spring. I was really nervous about it until my 18 week ultrasound, where they found that the placenta is right where it's supposed to be. That was my number one concern. I'm still a little nervous about it, but not much more than I was with the others. I do know several people who have had five (or more!) c-sections with no problems. It's definitely becoming more common, and I think as long as you have a good doctor, you'll be fine!
  18. We have seven of these bookshelves throughout our house, (five in our library/schoolroom): 3-shelf bookcase We also have three of the five-shelf variety. I like them, especially the 3-shelf ones, (the bigger ones do tend to lean a bit). They're easy to put together, and they look pretty good, especially for the price. As for the quality, well, they're do-it-yourself furniture, so I guess it's not great, but I also haven't had any problems with them, and we've had some of them for years!
  19. Ballet flats in the spring and summer, boots in the fall and winter. I love skirts!
  20. Yes! Cowboy nachos! Those were what I was thinking of, but I couldn't remember what they were called. They're dh's personal favorite. Delicious!
  21. I'm so excited to read all of these posts! We're getting an AG store in our area this spring, and I can't wait to take my girls. Who am I kidding? I'd totally go by myself and look even if they didn't care at all!
  22. We love it on tostadas! It's also good on nachos. Served on buns with horseradish sauce. Throw it in soup. I'm sure there are other things we do with the leftovers, but those are the ones that immediately come to mind.
  23. Oops--forgot to mention that I have used canned tomatoes in a pinch! Fresh is better, of course, but canned works, too!
  24. With three of my five, I knew for sure, and I was right with all of them. The big exception was my first pregnancy...I had absolutely no clue at all, so I would have been surprised no matter what I found out! With this pregnancy, I kind of thought it was a girl, but I was afraid that was just wishful thinking on my part, so I didn't have the same certainty I did with the middle three pregnancies. It turns out I was right, though!
