  1. Have you checked the list at Homeschool Share? A couple more links: Squidoo Christmas Unit Study (makes a great notebook) Another Christmas Unit Study Awesome links for everything Christmas (via Wayback Machine) Oops gotta run! Will list more later ;)
  2. My dd really enjoyed the 3-5yo curriculum (free) from Hubbard's Cupboard. There are science/art activities, Bible, suggested library books, too much to mention. Another site we use now (that I really wish had been around when my ds was little) is Head of the Class. It is a free complete online prek-5th grade curriculum for every subject! The best feature is that you can customize it for each child. So, if you have a child who can read at a 3rd grade level but needs 2nd grade math, no problem. Maybe you only want your oldest to do math & language arts, no sweat. Want more math every day & less art/geography? Customize it! You can even set the lessons in a particular order (all addition lessons before place value, only certain history lessons, etc). It is wonderful! There are even printable worksheets (if your kids like that sort of thing ;)).
  3. I've been looking today for ideas to make it a little more appealing as well. I did come across this thread a little bit ago. I found it by searching on google like this: site:welltrainedmind.com OPGTR fun (or replace fun with activities). Maybe someone else will chime in with their OPGTR goodies :bigear:
  4. Have you seen the Key to Series? They have workbooks arranged by topic (fractions, measurement, algebra, etc). You can buy 4 of the workbooks for less than $12, but I got all the sets on Paperback Swap a couple years ago, so you could check there if you are a member. Oh, doesn't Math Mammoth have topical workbooks (not certain as I have never looked into it)?
  5. I am across the country from CLE & it has never taken more than 5 days once they ship. You can contact them via email or phone & they will happily provide you a tracking number.
  6. Guest Hollow has an amazing free American History curriculum & you could just follow the timeline & find a few of the books from your library (Jenn created this but I forgot her username :tongue_smilie:) I have used her other lesson plans (Science & History) and they are wonderful! She has really poured her heart into the schedules which is incredible considering they are FREE!
  7. Paula's Archives Honeypot Hollow Gravy pages using the wayback machine Nikkis Book Nook using wayback machine Road's to Everywhere I'll post more when I dig them up (lost in a sea of bookmarks :tongue_smilie:) Cindy
  8. I used it & it IS disjointed:tongue_smilie: It is not scheduled chronologically but rather by civilization so the MOH lessons are all out of order. That being said, we really enjoyed it once I rewrote it lol! I could not believe I had spent so much for a schedule that I had to rewrite :glare: but it taught me to research my possible purchases more thoroughly! If you like/want a schedule similar to WP QAW, join the Mystery of History yahoo group and peruse the files section. There are schedules almost identical to WP but MUCH better. Seriously. They include activities, crafts, videos, books, websites, etc that make the WP guides seem a little wimpy (all my opinion of course). Best part: they're FREE :D
  9. :tongue_smilie: :001_huh:  :001_rolleyes:    And that is ALL I'm gonna say about SS :D
  10. Busy Teacher's Cafe has some great themes (pumpkins included) A really nice site is Pratt's Educational Resources There are themes for everything (scroll down a bit to view all the topics). Couple more: A to Z Teacher Stuff Lesson Pathways
  11. I see you have had a reply to your review. Nice :tongue_smilie: (ick at her reply, not your honest review). I will DEFINITELY not be buying any of the units saved in my wishlist. :glare:
  12. What I did was to save all the state/capital maps from this website into one file. I printed the entire set all at the same time onto card stock. If you are not certain how to do that: hold Control and left-click on every file you wish to print. Once they are all highlighted, right-click on any of the files and select print (hold control until you you click print). I set my printer "page scaling" (in the printer dialog box that pops up when you click print) to multiple pages per sheet, 4 per sheet. I also had it print page borders to make it easier to cut them out lol! You could laminate them for durability or even cover them in clear contact paper.
  13. I have hundreds of links but I will post a few to keep you busy for a couple days anyway ;) For both subjects: Internet 4 Classrooms has games/links/activities for PreK-12 for every subject (plan on roaming the site for awhile lol). Head of the Class is a free complete online customizable curriculum. If you just want math, you can set the lessons for only that every day (and you can even mix & match grade levels). Awesome site! FunBrain has games for all subjects Up To Ten has more than 1,300 free educational games for kids ages 0-10 Play Kids Games for K-6 Apples for the Teacher plenty of links & activities but turn your pop-up blocker on because they have some annoying educational ads that pop up occasionally (this link takes you to LA stuff but there are more links at the top of the page) Funschool games for all subjects (and some just for fun) Primary Games all subjects Math: My Math Games some online games Blog with math activities & tons of links (scroll down for links arranged by topic) Kids Numbers free games & activities AAA Math Houghton Mifflin has games & activities arranged by grade level Phonics: Sadlier has phonics games arranged by grade Gamequarium has cool games PBS Kids has hundreds of games but you have to dig around a little bit Harcourt online games K-6 Reading Planet ages 6-15 Mrs Alphabet has links for LA games, a few I may have already posted (click the links button) And one of my dd's favorite games I Spy online If you get bored with those, let me know :D Cindy
  14. Education.com has TONS of awesome cut/paste worksheets that are exactly like the Kumon workbooks. You have to join but it's free. Once you join, search under writing then fine motor skills. If you can't find anything there, First School has some nice cut & paste activities (it says Preschool on the main page, but they have stuff for older grades too). A couple more: TLS DLTK If you have several hours ;) check out Carl's Corner. There are enough things there to keep your dc busy for a lifetime! Cindy
  15. Head of the Class is a free online curriculum for Pre K-5 that covers every subject. You can customize the lessons for each child. You can drop k art, add in 3rd grade math, have more music or History each day, or set all the lessons only to phonics (seriously, the sky is the limit). My dd is LOVING it. There are worksheets for many of the lessons, Science experiments using very easy to find supplies, games, videos, way too much to list here. The beauty is that once you set the lessons, only you would be able to tell what grade level your child is working on. Your dd could be working on 1st /2nd grade Math & LA, but 3rd/4th grade Art & Science. And did I mention it is free? :D I like free :w00t:
  16. There are several schedules on the MOH yahoo group that combine MOH, SOTW, VJB, & much more! You have to join, but it is free & there are some AWESOME resources for SOTW too! The SOTW files are in one of two folders: MOH1 Lesson Plans & Scheduling or MOH1 with other Curricula. There were some schedules on the SOTW yahoo group, but I have not been on there lately so there may be something different now. Hannah hs helps yahoo group has an entire folder of files for SOTW that you may find useful (click files, then History).
  17. Here is one I just thought of. I will dig through my links & post a few more that have some nice coloring pages.
  18. Activity Village Ivy Joy Coloring Center (hundreds of links might be some history ones) I have seen some on ABC Teach too. If you could tell me what time period you are looking for, I have a plethora of links to coloring & activity pages sorted by era. :001_smile:
  19. You could set the lessons at Head of the Class to ONLY include math. You can create your own custom curriculum for each child & have just math, if that is the only subject you want. You could even set it to have K & 1st grade lessons. It is very adaptable & easy to customize. My dd is loving it!
  20. I normally had my order within a week tops. Have you called to ask for a tracking number? They always give me one when I ask.
  21. Lesson Pathways (k-5 curriculum free) Head of the Class (online full curriculum prek-5th FREE) If you prefer worksheets, there are hundreds here at Houghton Miffflin for K (and grades 1-6 I think). Click the unit, then select a lesson # & one of the 3 choices at the bottom for a pdf worksheet. There are 3 sheets per lesson & about 16 lessons per unit. More than enough for an entire year of K math :001_smile:
  22. Head of the Class complete online & printable curriculum for prek-5th (all subjects) Internet for Classrooms games & activities for all subjects/grades Mrs Alphabet links to games etc for all things related to phonics & reading (think there is math on the home page too) Games for K-2 math/literacy Oops! I have more but gotta run! Will post more later.
