  1. This site has lots of great ideas (and yes I'm from AZ but the site has some fabulous resources for other subjects too). Cindy
  2. Bump for those who may have missed the update
  3. That was NOT there yesterday (or the previous days) so they must have just added it today! Thanks for letting me know. I will update the OP! Cindy
  4. I thought the same thing too at first. There was some discussion of this on the CurrClick facebook account. The #20 you are seeing in your order history is part of the Pirate Vocabulary (which actually has 3 separate parts to it). The #20 chest is an elusive little booger! I checked the site off and on all weekend and have not been able to find it yet. Cindy
  5. Strange, now when I click them, they are the same & they were different before. I made notes so I would not keep going to the same link over & over. Hmmm, now I cannot even get into my wishlist! It just takes me to a blank page (and I have 45 items in mine lol). I have not been able to place my order either. Usually the first day of CurrClick freebies the site is a little wonky. I'll keep checking for the last one. If anyone else finds it, post the location here and I'll update the original post. Cindy
  6. It's talk like a pirate day this weekend and CurrClick is having a sale plus 20 random freebies (a few lapbooks are included). You have to look for the treasure chests and when you click one, it automatically adds it to your cart. I do NOT have an affiliate account by the way. I have found 19 (and thanks to mom4knights we now have #20). It seems Quick Start & FAQ's are the same treasure chest (not in any specific order). If you find the missing one, post it below and I'll update the list! Starting on the home page: 1. Pirate banner (top of page) 2. Bottom of page 3. Top 100 products (right side of page) 4. Free Stuff (left side of page) 5. Follow your favorites (click notices on left side of page) 6. About CurrClick 7. Quick Start Guide/FAQ's 8. Troubleshooting 9. Contact us 10. Privacy Policy Starting in Account: 11. View or change account settings 12. View or change my billing address 13. Change my account password 14. View the orders I have made (also same as show all orders on top of page) 15. View all products I've purchased with download links 16. View all products updated since my last download 17. View all products awaiting my review 18. Select how I wish to be contacted by publishers 19. Wishlist (mine is currently not working for some strange reason) 20. Product Reviews on left side of home page I won't spoil the surprise by telling you what you get! Cindy
  7. Are you looking to buy something? If so, simply send a private message to the seller by clicking on their user name (you will see a few options pop up including private message). They will provide the details you need to complete the purchase. To sell books, I think you have to have 50 posts. Welcome to the Hive! Cindy
  8. In case you can't find it, here is the link to the scope & sequence (pdf file, math starts on page 5). Cindy
  9. I am not too savvy with all the abbreviations, but I am guessing you mean the copyright date. I purchased my guide from WP at the end of last year and the date on it is 2008. There was some discussion about it on the yahoo group revolving around how WP removed the Forensic Science from the QMA guide awhile back. Apparently some people who ordered earlier this year got the guide I had, while others who ordered at the same time received the newest one without the science (mine has Science/History incorporated into one guide). So I would assume the newest guide is from 2009 (which I think is the one shown as the sample here). Well, that really didn't answer your question, did it? :tongue_smilie: Cindy
  10. I have the teachers guides for level 1 and the first lessons are review. After that, it quickly gets into typical 1st grade math. You can easily skip the review lessons. In fact, there is a section titled "Remedial Exercises" designed to help students who may not be ready to start the actual lessons. Have you looked at the Scope & Sequence on AOP website? It tells you what concepts are covered but not exactly when. Cindy
  11. Homeschool Library is my personal favorite. You have to join to see some of the forums, but it is free.
  12. A little background: after much frustration & tears teaching my dd to read (she is 8 and has Epilepsy, SPD, and possibly Aspergers which we're working on getting a diagnosis for) I came this close to giving up. I read through dozens of threads on here & I decided to buy a copy of PP since she seems to have difficulties with word endings (word families mostly, but she seems to guess a word by what the last couple sounds are). Example: the word is "chop" she sees "op" and says "stop" etc. My question is, how exactly does one go about utilizing PP? I have read the introductory pages over & over but I have no idea "how" to actually teach it. I feel like such a failure regarding her inability to read (and she is very frustrated by it). My ds learned to read so easily when he was 5/6 with almost no help from me. I have zero experience teaching someone to read so I am a little nervous about messing things up! I have CLE Learning to Read, but after reading the thread about the sight words (LTR has a HUGE box of sight word flash cards) I shelved it until I could ask for advice. Any suggestions, ideas, or BTDT's would be greatly appreciated! Cindy
  13. My kids have played on all of these sites at one point or another. I have not checked what levels they offer, I merely linked to a few of my bookmarks. Internet for Classrooms K language arts Internet for Classrooms 1st language arts FunBrain FunSchool Up to Ten Play Kids Games Links for Kids Harcourt links Reading Planet Pratt's links (some are the ones I posted) Mrs Alphabet (lots of great stuff here)
  14. LOL! I was just kidding! I had NO idea there was a Classical Music for Dummies book I never thought about you tube. Maybe a book WOULD be a good idea so I knew which pieces to look for (I am clueless when it comes to this stuff :tongue_smilie:) :001_smile: Thank you for the links/suggestions! I am checking in to them all right now (thank you so much). Cindy
  15. My dd is 8 and has had very little exposure to classical music. She not only has some learning delays from Epilepsy but she has a Sensory Perception Disorder and possibly Aspegers (we are still in the diagnostic stage on this one). Anyway, music is VERY soothing for her (and I feel terrible that I have never pursued this avenue before :(). She already has dozens of cd's with everything from bible songs to 80's music and it really never occurred to me to try classical music. Well, until I came across a thread where someone suggested it for a child with disabilities. So, I did a quick google search and WOW! Information overload! I was so overwhelmed that I almost fried my brain. I did find a site with clips of classical music and she LOVED it (classics for kids I think?) but the cd's they have did not specifically state if it was partial or complete songs (can you tell I have no experience with classical music :blush5:) or what. I have NO idea where to start. :001_huh: I am not really looking for lesson plans/worksheets. What I really want are cd's with Beethoven, Bach, Tchaikovsky, etc. Any suggestions? I would appreciate any ideas or links to cd's your dc have loved! Classical Music for Dummies maybe? :001_unsure: Thank so much! Cindy
  16. Definitely worth the money. For $20 you get access to all the great tools, plus member created documents. I utilize the site almost every day. I like it so much, my membership is good for 2+ years! ABC Teach gets :thumbup1: :thumbup1: from me!
  17. Happy Scribe books are only $1.50 per download. They had a free one for August somewhere and now I cannot find the link! Oh, I almost forgot! They have an April one on their site if you want to see what an entire book looks like. Cindy
  18. Here are some free workbooks for 6th-12th grade. They cover grammar, usage, mechanics, vocabulary, spelling, & composition. There is a section in each book with rules & definitions (the books are about 350 pages long or so). Cindy
  19. WOW! This is awesome! I have been using your Human Body study and will start your US history in a couple years. How do you ever find time to create such wonderful free curricula? Thank you SO much!!!!!
  20. To view the booklist, you have to be a member of the group (posted above). The link is found by going to Files - Astronomy - Astronomy Booklist LG. There are many other files listed in the yahoo group that would be helpful even if you are not using Apologia Elementary series. Cindy
  21. I will pray for you, too. :grouphug: I am in a similar situation. My dd will be my last chance homeschooling experience (she is my youngest). There are at least a dozen different curricula I want to use with her and only a couple years in which to do so! :glare: Just when I think I have made up my mind, I waver and start the "I can't decide" monologue in my mind all over again! Praying you are led to a decision soon. :001_smile: Cindy
  22. I have WW 3000 book 6 and it has 20 lessons (basically 20 weeks) with 300 words total. I had a couple links to schedules for stretching it to 36 weeks but now I can't find them LOL. Donna Young shows how to schedule it over 33 weeks. Cindy
  23. It does. We have used it for EVERYTHING (not just pipes). It is better than pool noodles since you can get it in smaller diameter sizes. Home Depot sells dozens of different lengths/diameters, but you can get it almost anywhere: Walmart, Target, Ace Hardware, etc. It bends easier than a noodle, too. It's not as pretty as noodles, but it gets the job done. :D Cindy
  24. Here are a few links you could give her (or for anyone else interested :001_smile:). Lesson Pathways is now free and has a full year of lesson plans scheduled for K-5 (including all the printable worksheets you would need). Literactive has some wonderful worksheets/books/games for learning to read/beginning readers (also free). FunFonix has worksheets for may phonics levels. Soft Schools has something for every subject for most grade levels (this is one of my favorites since they have worksheet generators for just about anything). Worksheet Works 'nuff said. Core Knowledge lesson plans for 1st grade (other grades available on the left side). Homeschooling 4 Free blog with links for every subject. For the younger grades, all you really NEED is a printer & library card (so tell her not to sweat the cost, she really can do it for free). It takes a little of your time, but it is worth it (I'd plan all night every night if it meant the difference between keeping my kids home versus sending them to PS). Cindy
  25. We will be doing MOH 1 in a year or two (even though I have owned it for 4 years now, talk about procrastinating LOL). Honestly, you do not NEED anything. The reproducible cd is good if you do not have access to a copier, but it is a very full program all by itself. You can check the yahoo group for ideas for activities, schedules, extra book/video suggestions, etc. Cindy
