  1. Glad I'm not alone!! I'll be praying for you too! My problem seems to be that I want to figure out this year and the next. So that I'm not repeating books from one year to the next! Thanks for your prayers! :001_smile:
  2. I'm having the hardest time deciding between HOD PHFHG, MFW ECC, and GTG. I've prayed. I've read post after post. I've looked at yahoo groups, message boards, and samples and can not decide what to do. Obviously I need more prayers. So I thought I'd ask for some prayer warriors to help me out. Thanks so much!!
  3. My dd has enjoyed The Boxcar Children series, the American Girl books, and the Life of Faith series (these are like American Girl books, but christian). Hope that gets you started.:)
  4. So far I've spent $175! I have: Saxon Math 2 ($64) SL3 History readers regular and advanced ($100) MFW Adventures ($0, a friend gave this to me):hurray::001_wub: Easy Grammar 2 ($11) My dh has been told his job will end in a month, so I'm trying to be very frugal. Praise God for amazing friends!!!!:001_smile:
  5. We use Easy Grammar/ Daily Grams and my dd loves them and all I do is check her work. If you go here you can see sample pages: http://www.easygrammar.com/index2.html Hope you find what you are looking for!!
  6. Anyone ever used Songschool Latin? If so did you like it and would you recommend it?
  7. You all are soo great!!! I went to the sale and found Sonlight 3 for a great price which I am going to use with MFW Adventures that a dear friend of mine GAVE me yesterday! Most of the books used in SL3 are used in the book basket for MFW which will allow me the scripted questions I was looking for, but still having my hands on stuff scheduled in MFW. God has been so good to me and you all helped me to not be so strict on myself. My dh has been informed that he will be without a job as of June 30, so this decision was really hard for fear of messing up with what little money we will have to work with. Sorry for rambling!! Thanks for the advice!!!:001_smile:
  8. I love this forum!!! You all are so great!!!! I'm headed out to the used curriculum sale!! I appreciate all of your great insights!! I'll let you know what I come home with!!!:001_smile:

  10. I think I may have posted this in the wrong area previously, so here I go again. I am debating using MFW (Adventures), WP(American Story), HOD(Beyond or Bigger), and TOG. My dd7 is an avid reader!! Even when we go outside she likes to take a book to read while swinging on her swing. Her comprehension is probably 4th grade. She loves to do hands on activities as well, but I want to make sure I'm working on her comprehension and narrating skills. My concern with looking over these is that I am not good at coming up with my own open ended questions and would like for the curriculum I choose to help me out. I already have Saxon Math and Easy Grammar that she enjoys, so no need to have those incorporated in, but if they are it is no big deal. My dh and I have agreed that we would like to teach American History before World History and that we do not want Bible to be forced into every subject, we do want a Christian view, just don't make my dd hate Christ if she starts to hate school (not sure that makes sense, but I need to give you as much as I can so I can get some of your awesome advice I've seen handed out here on this forum). Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me!!!! Anxiously waiting to hear from you!!!! P.S. I am going to a used curriculum sale today and would really like some advice before I go. Thanks!:)
