  1. I was editing a sold classified listing and a strange page popped up. I've edited my posts with no problems before so I have no idea why it would say: Attention Required! One more step to access forums.welltrainedmind.com View advanced details and evidence regarding your restriction Your action has triggered the website's security system because of a phrase or content in your submission. Often automated bots will try to post spam campaigns (like ads for Rolex watches or medications) or injection attacks on websites. This website is taking precaution to stop these automated threats. 2. Only this time they are posting links to the items on Pinterest to make things easier :) There are nine eggs shown here as of this moment. They are supposed to post the last one some time today. Link to Pinterest If you do not have Pinterest, there are hints on the FB Page for Currclick Happy Hunting!
  3. Not sure if you figured this out but I found I can delete subscriptions to threads that I have posted in by editing my post and removing the check mark from the "follow this topic" box on the right side of the page. Once you submit the edit, you will no longer receive notification when someone else posts in that thread. Also, click your name at the top right corner of the screen, select "Content I follow" then click "Toggle Edit Options." Put a check mark in the ones you want to stop following, select the down arrow at the bottom of the list that says "Choose Action," highlight "stop following" and click Update Selected" to delete all the checked boxes.
  4. I am trying to upload pictures to my ads (and have been since I first posted them). Every single time I attempt to attach one, I get: Error This upload failed I have tried 3 different browsers, reformatting my photos, etc, but I receive the error every time. Any ideas? :confused1:
  5. Are you clicking the "Browse" button on the bottom of the sale listing? That is where you upload photos from your computer. After you click Browse, select the photo then click "Attach this file" under the browse button. It will upload the photo to the listing :)
  6. Awesome advice. I'm gonna try it in the morning. Hopefully I won't make too big of a mess :) Thanks for the replies, I really appreciate them!
  7. a coil binding on a teacher's manual by yourself? It is similar to this: The center cracked and I can't afford to get it fixed (they want $15 at a local office supply store!). I do have a spare coil, is it possible to replace it myself? I was going to just try it but I'm worried I will screw things up  :tongue_smilie: Thanks in advance for any suggestions or advice!
  8. You have the upload it at the bottom of the post you are making. Click browse, find the photo on your computer you want to use, select it, click open, then click attach this file. It may not work though because it has been giving error messages for a few days when I try to attach one.
  9. I am having the same problem only this is the message I receive: Error This upload failed Hopefully someone will address this soon. :)
  10. DVD's? ^_^ Would those be of your video lessons? Maybe I missed it but where would I find those? DVD's may be a better option, especially for the adult. Thanks for your suggestions (and I LOVE your site by the way :001_wub: ).
  11. Thank you for all the wonderful ideas! I'm going to check them out right now. It is so sad that 2 people I love dearly cannot read properly. What a tragedy :( I really appreciate the suggestions :thumbup1:
  12. Without revealing too much information, I know a couple people who desperately need phonics instruction. One is a 38yo adult and the other is an 11yo child. The adult learned sight words in PS and had zero phonics instruction. The child has experienced similiar teaching instruction and can only sound out 1st grade level words! There do not seem to be any learning disabilities just lack of proper instruction. Is there anything that could be used to teach them both (they are unrelated)? Or maybe two different programs? It would have to be inexpensive because we are in the midst of a medical & financial crisis ourselves and I know the adult cannot spend much (otherwise I would buy a program for them to use). It may best if it were something that could be used on their own and offline (neither one has steady computer access). I would like to do what I can to help them learn to read without humiliating either one. Nothing says "I am a failure" louder than being rejected for a job because you filled out the application incorrectly :( Thanks in advance for any suggestions, I appreciate them all! :)
  13. Does anyone have this chart saved? If so, could you possibly (pretty please) send it my way? Our computer caught fire & I lost all my docs. I thought I printed this out but I cannot find it anywhere. :confused1: Thanks!
  14. Thank you both! I am going to try them & see what happens. I'm hoping I can do this for my jpeg format homeschool files too ;)
  15. A company sent my dh a scanned generator repair manual that is 500+ pages long. Problem is, it is in jpeg format. Is there any way to convert all the files into one pdf document for easier opening & printing? I tried googling it but WOW! I am afraid to download anything unless I know it is safe since my last virus fiasco lol. I do not have MS word or Adobe paid version. I figured with all the combined knowledge of the hive, someone would know SOME free (and easy) program for me to do this. Maybe? Thanks in advance for any suggestions :)
  16. Here are a few links I have saved: http://www.homeschoolshare.com/butterfly_lapbook.php http://www.squidoo.com/butterfly-lapbook http://www.theteachersguide.com/butterflies.htm http://www.learner.org/jnorth/tm/monarch/Resources.html http://www.kidzone.ws/animals/monarch_butterfly.htm http://www.pbs.org/teachers/wildkratts/lessonplans/butterflies/ http://www.monarch-butterfly.com/ http://www.biokids.umich.edu/critters/Danaus_plexippus/ Forgot another cool link: http://kids.nationalgeographic.com/kids/animals/creaturefeature/monarch-butterflies/
  17. Not exactly a video, but one of my dd's fave sites about this: http://www.californiaherps.com/behavior/lizardbehaviortailloss.html Try google searching "caudal autotomy" then click videos on the left. There will be more technical information that way :)
  18. This happened to us. I made it a lesson in seeing the beautiful in something imperfect. We cared for him (her?) until the end. FWIW, my dd was thrilled that one of the butterflies stayed behind. She was not happy about having to let them go. We raised a Swallow Tail and a Tiger Moth over the last few months. DD never lets the habitat sit empty for very long :) Yesterday it was a Japanese Beetle :tongue_smilie:
  19. I forgot to say that if you have a FB account, I can give you links to several groups where we post links to free curriculum. They are organized by subject and there are HUNDREDS of them!
  20. You can view the page by pasting the link on Internet Archive (or just click this link). :001_smile: It may take a minute to load.
  21. A Book in Time is an awesome site! Maybe not exactly what you are looking for but there are chronological book lists, arts/crafts, activities, printables, and much more. Best of all, everything is free :)
  22. If you are using DWN book 1, you can get some AWESOME free printables to go with it on Carisa's site (seriously these are so cool). Scroll down a little bit for the link to the pdf file which is just above the giveaway entry form.
  23. Awesome! We will be doing Bigger soon and these will be a nice addition :001_smile: Thanks for sharing :D
  24. Here is a free animal geography curriculum designed by a hs mom. I used it with my dd to enrich our WP Animals & Their Worlds curriculum. ETA: There are plenty of things you could use from Homeschool Share to go along with animal studies. You do not have to do a lapbook to utilize the pages. You can simply print out the pages you think your dd would like and keep them in a binder/folder when you are finished. While not exactly "animal" geography, this hs mama's blog has TONS of free resources for every country, including some animal themed pages. Just click the country you are interested in to find them. Discovery Education has a"Habitats of the World" theme. I have hundreds of animal links. If you want to waste a few days looking through them lol, feel free to send me a PM with your email address and I will send you a list :)
