I typically do.... 2 cups water 2 cups frozen fruit 1 fresh banana 2 handfuls of spinach, or sometimes I have kale etc... I did this same combo in my old Oyster, but I would blend the water and greens first.

I think it could be done (Dh and I are both pretty mathy) but it would be time consuming and I think the curriculum is a worthwhile purchase for our family.

If she likes horses, the Breyer Stablemates series is nice. We found them at the library. Mercy Watson is also a hit here.

I label the kids with the grade they would be in the school district, but their curriculum may contain different grade levels. :)

I will buy them if it is a coupon month, but otherwise pampers are cheaper thru amazon mom.

How does the DVD differ from the videos on the website?

We did the 3 R's (OPGTR, HWT, SM Essentials) and got library books on anything that interested her in other subjects.

I like PDF's for workbooks because I can easily print more for the younger siblings. I also bought SOTW for the kindle app as an experiment and it's going well.

DD enjoyed the book There's a Frog in My Throat by Loreen Leedy. (we love so many books by this author) It has very cute illustrations. I may look into that Idiom Dictionary next!

There is a 9 megapixel Vivitar digital camera in the Target ad this week for $30. You would probably have to also buy an SD card and batteries.

Do any of the other popular logic/critical thinking publishers offer PDF's? This will definitely influence my purchasing decisions in the future.

Is there flexibility for the student choosing some of the animals or do they have a predetermined list?

My recommendation for K is OPGTR, Singapore Essential Math B and HWT K - plus the library for great literature (check FIAR, Sonlight etc... for booklists) as well as non-fiction books on their favorite topics. I also like the R+S workbooks, but the whole set was overkill even for my workbook-loving child. For my other kids I will probably get books C and G for the math teaching and book F for the cut and paste skills.
