  1. Try the Simple brand facial wipes. They are aimed at more sensitive skin and I don't recall them being overly scented either. My son uses Neutrogena ultra gentle cleanser - it's one of a few that don't overdo it since he uses differin at night for acne.
  2. I would love to learn ice dancing, and I wish I'd kept up with cello lessons. For super powers - teleportation. It would be SO handy here in Montana winters :)
  3. I rarely drink soda-type drinks but when I do....it's Dr. Pepper :)
  4. I have the same problem. I am 5'10 with a 36" inseam - my height is mainly legs and finding anything long enough is like the impossible quest.
  5. Seasoned Salt & vinegar for the fries too!
  6. We have a similar group for our town here and it's been a great resource - so nice to be able to get real people opinions on businesses. I checked our group and it looks like you've covered it pretty well. You might want to consider how you'll handle removing people if necessary and post that but otherwise looks good. Be prepared for things you can't possibly foresee to come up, though...and just deal with it accordingly. Good luck!
  7. I'd just call some of the downtown hotels and ask about the airport shuttles. They can tell you too how far it is to walk to the various sites. That site has a map of downtown, so it might be just as easy to take a cab to a central spot and stroll from there.
  8. We use 1 1/2 cups per gallon. We get our lovely sweet tea but can still taste the tea. I grew up in South Carolina and sweet tea was a fact of life! That is when sweet tea is good, when you can still taste tea and don't feel like you are drinking syrup. It's a fine line though between the perfect amount and too much. Out here in Montana, almost no one has sweet tea except McDonalds and theirs is on the 'too sweet' side. I've converted many friends to the sweet side though :)
  9. I've never had issues here with UPS till the new year dawned, but since then something is screwy in UPS-land. In January, we had a package marked delivered that never came. Amazon sent a replacement. a few days later, UPS called to say they had a package for me that had been delivered to the wring place and then returned to them and they would deliver it the next day. On this day, they delivered one package and apparently took the other one somewhere else. Two weeks ago, I had two boxes due, both with my name on them. They left one at my door and the other two doors down, in my same building, at a friend's door. We have lived here for five years..:)
  10. Here's a site with things to see & doo downtown: http://downtownhelena.com/explore/ The state capitol is worth seeing if you like history and architecture, as is the cathedral. The good news is that it's upposed to be in teh 50's and 60's all next week in Helena (and down in the southwest part of the state for us too!). Enjoy your stay :)
  11. I have had a UPS delay this week too and I am out west - so is the package - where it's been positively spring like. Like you, the Amazon delivery estimate changed as well and the tracking note on the UPS site noted that it had arrived but that it hadn't been unloaded off the trailer (9 hours later) and since it would delay deliver, they were rescheduling the delivery. I've never seen that before.
  12. Tammyla brought up a good point. If you have a desktop, or a friend with one, hook the laptop up to a monitor to check if it's working or if anything else was damaged - before you go to the expense of replacing the screen.
  13. I love the long evenings. We are so far north that in winter, our days are almost non-existent and it's dark by 4. I get so tired when it's dark that early.
  14. Also try Estee Lauder's Invisible Fluid foundation. They have some really light shades and this one is lightweight and natural looking.
  15. Check with the running store when you go shoe shopping - many have running groups for various levels and act as a network for local runners. Also, be sure to check their return policy. Will they take the shoes back if you run in them a few times and they aren't working? Most specialty stores (NOT Footlocker, etc) will exchange them in this case and this is a good thing, especially if you're starting out and have no idea what brand or style works for you. Running shoes can be pricey, but this time of year lots of of brands are bringing out new updates on their styles and last year's versions are on sale. This doesn't mean last year's are not as good but it's a good way to spend a little less :) Early autumn is another good time for running shoe sales. Online running shoe sites like Running Warehouse are another good source for shoes and they will take used returns, but only go the online route once you know a specific brand/shoe style work for you. One thing Skimomma said is really true - watch your running surfaces. Concrete sidewalks are incredibly hard and can beat you up after a while. Asphalt is hard, but not as bad as concrete. Good luck and welcome to the world of running :)
  16. I have to add books. I agree with AMJ, they ARE as vital as air :)
  17. Strawberry twizzlers, my filofaxes, sweet iced tea :)
  18. I'll vote for 'getting plugged in' too. Sounds way too Stepford wives for me.
  19. We have that same Brother color laser and I like it. Be aware that this printer takes 3 separate color cartridges and one black - which is good because if one color runs out you can just replace that one. Color cartridges, even the non-brother compatibles ones, will be pricey if you replace the whole set. I would advise getting a set when you order though, because the ones that come with it are not the high yield ones and don't last long. We still have our first black & white brother laser and we use it for all out b&w printing, not the color printer. We haven't had a minute's trouble with either one, though, and they get used a lot - between the kids and Hubbs and I both in school :) Note: this color printer does connect to your network wirelessly and it also has duplex printing which I LOVE.
  20. *raises hand* That's me in Ulta too :w00t: Hubby calls the cosmetics department at Macy's my mothership. I use a mix of drugstore and department store (only if I can't find it at the drugstore). Most of the ds brands are made by the high-end companies these days anyway. I attribute my love of creams and potions to the fact that I am 51 (almost 52) and still don't have wrinkles, even though I live at high altitude. Moisturizer is my friend! And so is bath oil...and lotion....and lipstick....and.....
  21. Yes, a little peppery but not strong. I used to have a sprout jar and lost it somewhere along the way. I need to get another one!
  22. all of the above...plus, radish sprouts add a little spiciness to a salad. Delicious.
  23. I will always have fond memories of watching the Original Series with my grandfather and always loved Spock. Wil Wheaton has a lovely tribute on his blog here: http://wilwheaton.net/
  24. Ha! When we were little, we'd lick the outside of the Robin Eggs malted milk candy and use it for lipstick :) Years ago, Palmer made tiny eggs that were half chocolate and half mint, tasted like an Andes mint and they were awesome. I've not been able to find them in a long time though.
