My grandmother has an upright piano of fairly good quality. The piano is a ten-hour drive from where I live. I want the piano, she wants to get rid of the piano. I am sentimentally attached to it, I learned to play on it as a child. I called a piano moving company about moving it. They quoted $1000. Would you pay for that? See if a regular moving company would do it? Rent a trailer and drive it yourself? Decide it's not worth it and have her sell it?

They were right to invite him, but expecting you to share a vehicle is not polite. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Mine have always fit just fine. My rear is on the small side. I wear size small.

At approximately that age I remember reading the earlier Harry Potter books, Narnia, E. B. White books, Boxcar Children, Anne of Greene Gables, Howl's Moving Castle Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I would be concerned. Not that the child is unusually violent, because I think most small children experiment with saying mean or violent things, but wondering where he got ideas like that! Can most children that age think up stuff like that on their own? I would probably react with a disapproving look and move on, unless the other child was upset. But I think his parents need to really work on being kind and gentle and using words thoughtfully with him, since it sounds like this is his habitual behavior. But you probably can't suggest it to them unless you have an excellent relationship. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

When do you stop having your child read aloud?
HTRMom replied to Earthmerlin's topic in K-8 Curriculum Board
Not what you're asking, but reading aloud has been a lifelong pleasure for me. My husband and I have read dozens of books together in our four years of marriage. My sister and I read every Harry Potter, Narnia, and lots of random books out loud together during the summers in high school! It's an excellent alternative to TV. I overheat very easily and cannot function at all if it is 75+ in the house. I set the thermostat to 72 in the summer. The last couple years we were renting a house with only window units and it was hard on me! Especially pregnant. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I think 7 is acceptable if necessary. I'd wait until 8 if possible. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I bought some dresses from Pink Blush Maternity a couple years ago. I've lost all the weight now but they're still really cute and comfortable. Nobody thinks they look like maternity clothes. http://www.pinkblushmaternity.com/p-21145-blue-colorblock-draped-sash-tie-short-sleeve-maternity-dress.aspx?DepartmentID=1 https://www.loft.com/flippy-skirt/428250?skuId=22407290&defaultColor=2222&colorExplode=true&catid=catl000017 I have this "flippy" skirt. It's knee length on me, I'm 5'3". It's a nice thick knit. http://m.zappos.com/p/ugg-ayden-chestnut-leather/product/8466155/color/281 I'm very picky and these sandals are comfortable enough for me to take my kids for walks. Not good for poolside, though. I've had some Born Concept leather thongs for six years. They're very comfortable. Any sandals in that brand I recommend. I also have a midi skirt from eShakti that I wear very often, but I can't find the same style to link it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Definitely the worst day of my mom life. And I was 3 months pregnant too! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Plague exists in a small region. Look up a map. I live in the center of that region. My baby ate a dead mouse out of a trap a year ago. I freaked beyond freaking out, obviously. The pediatrician called the state office that deals with disease and they said that if he ran a fever in six weeks, bring him to the ER to rest for plague. He was fine. That said, I would throw away anything easy to replace. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Leggings are perfectly cute with a top long enough to cover your behind. A top that long is more like a mini dress. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have a friend who is recovering from a near-death experience which wiped out much of her cognitive function. She has to relearn most things from walking to reading. She can now read words out loud well, but she can't process what she's reading. Could anyone recommend a reading comprehension program suitable for this situation?

I would want the tub without jets and the accent tiles. I recently bought a home and a soaker tub was on my list of desired features. But taking out the tub and having a huge shower might be more universally appealing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Prayers. This happened to a friend of mine. She ended up getting married a couple months later so that her mother could attend. It's a very hard way to begin a marriage. Besides being miserable for everyone generally. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

A good fraction of the population will consider it inappropriate and some might judge you. If you are in a position not to need the approval of others, then do whatever you want. I do not believe that you will ever look dressy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Funeral question - visitation, service, both or neither?
HTRMom replied to footballmom's topic in The Chat Board
I think visitation would typically be more appropriate, unless the funeral happens to be a Mass or other community church service. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
First baby: posterior. Horrendous birth. Turned after many hours and some morphine. Second baby: Posterior. Start and stop prodromal labor for days, once labor started in earnest progression was normal. Short but intense. Turned at some point. This baby had a cord wrapped around his arm in a dangerous way and had a rare amniotic band. Third baby: Prodromal labor was so intense and prolonged that I was induced. Epidural made labor easy. He came out sunny side up, in just a couple pushes.

I have curly hair and usually hate my haircuts. It takes a couple of months to look good after cutting. A couple of times I've really hated the shape, but I've never thought, "oh, no! Should have left it long!" I usually cut it chin-short, let it grow past my shoulders, cut again, repeat. It takes about two years. I would be very cautious about going short if your hair has more volume than you like already.

Physical product. Apps are great, but I can't imagine an app so great that it would change my life. And if it is something somehow critical, I wouldn't want to be even more attached to my phone. I like the freedom to "forget" to charge it now and then. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Do you blush easily? Then WWYD? / What do you do?
HTRMom replied to 38carrots's topic in The Chat Board
I assume the question is, when someone says "you're blushing," what's the graceful response? It's really hard to have one, which makes it a very awkward comment. I think I might nod, say "excuse me," smile, and make that hand-waving turn-away-from-me guesture. Or you could say, "you're right," and wait politely for everyone to move on. Or "yes, you're staring!" Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Do you have Tapatalk? That app makes it very easy to add photos and it asks you what quality you want. It also adds an annoying signature line, as you can see. Tinypic also works well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Poll: Did you tour colleges before you went
