Freezer burnt chicken

Can I somehow recover freezer burned chicken? It's pretty much white all over. I hate throwing away food in these times, but also don't want to waste resources cooking and then gagging on the results. I can't deal with a strong poultry taste, not even turkey on Thanksgiving.

I throw it out, but you might be able to cook it, shred it, and disguise the taste with something else. Chicken soup or chicken salad with extra mustard. Enchiladas.

I would throw it away, but maybe you could disguise it with barbecue sauce or something and cook it in the Instant Pot or the Crock Pot?

 I’m sure someone will know what you can do with it! I’m not adventurous.

I make dog food with things like that from my freezer 😀not quite the same but better than tossing it!!

According to Google, freezer burn won’t make you sick but it won’t taste very good. You can try disguising the taste with herbs, broth or sauce.

I'd baste with oil and add spices, then cook. That's improved some freezer burnt chicken here.

Chili or dog food is what I do here.  Although one time, I did an amazing chicken soup with it in the instant pot.

I throw it out or cook it for the dogs, too. … Although now our dog is allergic to chicken, so more likely to toss it.

This might work.  We don't usually throw anything out if it wouldn't make us sick.  I wouldn't use it for something where 'chicken taste and texture' is the primary flavor, but in something saucy and flavorful, you could shred it and it should be OK.

I would use it to make something like chicken tortilla soup, dicing the chicken into small pieces (so the texture isn't too important) and allowing the spices of the soup to provide flavoring.

Still in the freezer. I think I'll donate it to a friend's dog.
