Popular Post JustEm Posted January 9, 2022 Popular Post Posted January 9, 2022 I'm feeling very loved and cared for this week and I just need to brag. Please, use this thread to brag about a loved one if you'd like. I'd love to read some great stories. As many of you know we are having quite the week. First, dh and I got stuck on 95 for 26 hours on our way home from a weekend away. Then we came home to kids with covid and finally I started getting sick too. I have felt Sick since Tuesday evening and have been pretty useless most of the week other then minimally caring for the sick kids. Dh has been awesome as usual this week with holding down the fort and taking care of me. But he's had to work so couldn't be completely available. All I asked the kids was to make sure the dogs were taken care of and to help younger kids get food and water when they needed it. Not only did they do those things without complaint but ds13 made dinner last night without prompting while the others cleaned up after. Today dh became ill too so things just didn't get done the way they normally would with 2 parents sick on the couch. And the kids really stepped up tonight because of it. They are currently folding and putting 5 loads of laundry away and they cleaned the kitchen and dining room. They can give me a hard time about chores like any kid but they sure know how to rally when it is most important. For their efforts they've earned staying up all night. 72 8 Quote

HomeAgain Posted January 9, 2022 Posted January 9, 2022 You've raised good, empathetic kids. I hope you and your dh feel better, but what a relief you must feel knowing they are becoming such good humans. 🙂 3 1 Quote
Kassia Posted January 9, 2022 Posted January 9, 2022 Aw, what great kids! ❤️ I had to tell DH the story about your little one shushing her sibling because Mommy was "seeping." Hope you and DH feel better soon and I'm glad your kids made you feel happy and cared for. 2 1 Quote
Drama Llama Posted January 9, 2022 Posted January 9, 2022 That definitely deserves bragging! You must be very proud. Sorry you're both feeling lousy though. 3 Quote
MooCow Posted January 9, 2022 Posted January 9, 2022 Awesome kids!!! My dh bought a dumb Jurassic World movie for us, mainly me, to watch. ❤️ Love my hubby 6 Quote
fraidycat Posted January 9, 2022 Posted January 9, 2022 Great kids!! It's so sweet of them to help you out and go beyond. Mine are similar in that day-to-day, they aren't the most reliable "workers" at home (paid employment is a different story - they're great there), but they really know how to step up when it matters. They will prepare and serve me drinks & meals on the couch or in bed when I'm not feeling well. I hope you feel better soon! 5 Quote
Harriet Vane Posted January 9, 2022 Posted January 9, 2022 So lovely!!! I’m glad you shared. Sorry your family is dealing with covid—may you all emerge healthier and stronger quickly. Ds just left for school today. I miss my kids! I love the grownups they are and I wish we could always be together. While home on break, our awesome grown-up ds removed a wall and plastered and painted, helped empty the basement, and helped paint half the basement. He’s a hard worker and didn’t have to be asked. We are so grateful! I sent him back to school with plenty of home-cooked meals and goodies for his freezer. 7 Quote

SKL Posted January 9, 2022 Posted January 9, 2022 Right now I'm proud of my girls for taking responsibility and getting things done when they could be making excuses. 5 Quote
