athena1277
Look for a leak under the kitchen sink or near the dishwasher. My other idea was to make sure there’s not a dead mouse behind something. When we had a mouse problem 2 years ago, we had one way in the back under the sink. I had decided it was in a wall before we realized that it was behind something so we couldn’t see it until everything was pulled out.
MEmama
Wet dishcloths? I accidentally left one once before going on vacation...ooh my. 🤮. Took me awhile to figure it out (was bunched up in the laundry basket).
Paige
Does your nose help you pinpoint even a general area? Maybe garbage disposal or drain? Maybe not the kitchen but a room that shares a wall or vent?
klmama
Rotting orange? Have you opened windows and turned on kitchen exhaust fan to pull fresh air in while pushing smelly air out? Clearing the air may make it easier to pinpoint the source.
Arctic Bunny
Something spilled under the fridge? Table wiped with a stinky dishcloth? Something in recycling that shouldn’t be?
ThisIsTheDay
We had a countertop lazy Susan that was made of our countertop material that we keep a fruit bowl on top of. Several years ago, water or fruit juice got under there, and the stench was horrendous . .

El...
Gross! Glad you found it. Did you have to take the back panel off of the fridge to get at it?

mellifera33
Ick! We had that happen once. A quart of heavy whipping cream spilled in the fridge. I briefly wondered why I wasn't wiping up much cream, but figured there was less in the bottle than I had thought. Nope! It was congealing and putrefying in the evaporation pan. By far the grossest cleaning job I've ever done!
Acorn
This is what I have learned today 1) fridges have drip pans and 2) don’t google that because most of them show moldy photos
Scarlett
1 hour ago, alisoncooks said: No. Ours has a grill thing on the bottom front. Popped that off and slid the pan right out. Dumped it all in the sink before I realized much of it was solid, (*gag*) so that was fun. So sorry. Cleaning this kind of mess makes me want to vomit too. Glad you found the source fairly quickly though.
