The picture looks really cute but it's being worn with a pair of white jeans. I only wear blue jeans. Wouldn't a blue denim shirt look strange with blue denim jeans, even if they different blues? My husband goes to work often in a navy blue denim shirt and lighter blue jeans. It’s like home of the Levi’s here so plenty of denim jackets and jeans combinations of all kinds of brands. Below two links are commonly seen around here and unisex even though one model is a lady and the other is a guy. My DS12 favorite color is blue so blue unbuttoned shirt, T-shirt and jeans are norm for him. Just finding shirts that go with the skirts is challenging. I don't want dressy. I've been wearing tshirts and I don't think they look too bad. If you are going to wear a denim shirt with denim jeans, I would definitely vary the hues or it just looks like a jean suit. When I am not sure about a piece of clothing, I always go to Pinterest and type it in the search box. You can look at lots of different combinations and get some ideas of what might work.
