BigMamaBird
My Dh and I just finished binge watching Stranger Things on Netflix. I really enjoyed it! It's like a mix of all the best 80's movies, X-Files and a Stephen King novel. Very well written, beautifully shot and the kids are amazing. I highly recommend it. UCF612
Have you seen the comparison video floating around FB ? It shows clips of Stranger Things next to the 80s inspiration clips. Pretty interesting.
kewb
I just finished the second episode. I can't decide if I like it or not. There are a lot of things I like-80's movies, X-Files, etc. But it has also creeper me out at times.

Peach
We're aboupt halfway through and love it. I am also reminded of Dan Simmons' Summer Of Night and Robert McCammon's A Boy's Life. It has really sucked us in. All I have to say is ..What About Barb? :)

Mothersweets
We're loving it at our house! Just finished episode 6 last night and plan to watch the rest tonight.
poppy
It is really good, especially for anyone who grew up in the 80s. Whole thing starts with a bunch of kids playing D&D which made me smile big. There is a kid plot (bunch of 12 year olds ), a teen plot and some good acting from the chief of police as a foundation. I really hope there is a season 2.

I thought they would mention Scanners - with the bloody nose and whole 'killing people with your mind' thing going on.

magic
Our family started watching it on the day it was released and couldn't stop. We ended up watching it straight through and finished up early in the morning. We all really enjoyed it and want to watch it again.

ILiveInFlipFlops
I meant to watch only the first episode...I just finish episode eight. It is 4am. Oops! Younger DD was at day camp the week before last, and older DD and I started watching on Monday. We were like, "OK, we watched two episodes today, so if we watch two per day we could make this thing last almost the whole week!" We finished the series at 2:00 on Tuesday. Sometimes you just have to know what happens! Edited July 31, 2016 by ILiveInFlipFlops
KungFuPanda
Finished in three sittings. Saw 5 episodes the first night then DH cut me off at 2 a.m. We enjoyed it. So much 80s goodness :-)

To his caveats I'll add, I did a bit of peeking over my shoulder while taking the dog out for her midnight potty break! After a show like this I have to remind myself that I'm a grown woman and the only thing in the dark to be afraid of is our neighborhood skunk!
