maize
Let's say I have a few kids who need swim goggles but are liable to lose a pair or three this season; what is a decent brand to buy that won't break the bank?
zoobie
Costco has three packs of Speedo
umsami
We've bought the three packs at Costco or Sam's Club too. I love Swim Outlet. Best thing we got there were these bungee cord replacement straps. Made it so much easier to put goggles on.
Upward Journey
Yup, when kids were little it was Costco for goggles. We also did bungee strings when the straps broke.
wintermom
I've found packs of 3 goggles at WalMart (or Canadian Tire in Canada) that have been surprisingly good for swimming, though probably not for diving in and swimming. They were very inexpensive, which made it a lot easier to live with knowing 1 - 2 pairs will be lost. I do buy Speedos at Costco, too, but they are more expensive. To be honest, the straps break just as fast on the Speedos as on the cheap pairs. Edited March 5, 2016 by wintermom
UCF612
We buy the Speedo Jr Hydrospex for my boys. They have been wonderful for them. They stay on when they dive in and rarely leak, at least for us. Not sure if head shape/size plays a role. My kids are lower elementary age. LisaKinVA
Speedo Vanquishers (or Vanquisher Jr.) here. We replace the straps for the younger kids with bungees or oggle straps.
Tsuga
I buy the absolute cheapest at Target. Like cheapy-cheap. My kids are still quite small, though. I don't even worry about brand. Just lowest price. We lose THAT MANY.
Ms Brooks
Cheap Sporti from Swimoutlet. They last along as more expensive goggles at half the cost.
zimom
If goggles are coming off when diving in, please have your child put the goggles on first and then their cap on top. It really does help. And I second, third, fourth the bungee cord suggestion for making goggles last once your child will keep up with them. You can double the life of goggles. Once the strap breaks, replace it with a the bungee strap, and the bungee strap will usually last through 2-3 pairs of goggles so it is $3 well spent. My daughter prefers Speedo Vanquishers but losing them is not a problem for her at this point.
DesertBlossom
Costco has three packs of Speedo I usually buy them. This year there was something odd about 1 pair in the package. A different design. I can't remember exactly but I won't be buying them this year. I am also on the lookout for decent goggles.
mamakelly
I buy the Costco 3 pack. Even if one pair has a funny shape, it's still cheaper than buying decent goggles at Target.
MEmama
DS uses some from TYR. They are soooo much better for him than cheap kinds, which just leaked and pinched and were an all around nuisance (sensory and perfectionist issues). He also likes that they come with a sturdy case so they don't get lost or scratched in his bag.
