ChocolateReignRemix
That at my age I simply cannot eat ice cream after 8pm at night. In a fit of glee while watching college football DH convinced me that I couldn't pass up on some delicious vanilla ice cream. And here I am at 3:30 am typing on my phone and hoping my stomach forgives me soon. Ice cream...I love you but you hate me.
PollyOR
Back when we were younger we could eat anything and didn't realize how wonderful that was. Hope you are feeling better today!
lmrich
I cannot eat ice cream or any dairy not matter the hour. Every now and then I try to sneak some in, but my stomach is too wise for that. Hope you feel better today. Don't beat yourself about it either - your body did that for you!
Word Nerd
I'm the same way. I never had any issues with ice cream when I was younger, but when I eat it now it lets me know it's not my friend.
Moxie
I feel that way about coffee. I used to be able to drink it 24/7 and sleep like a baby. Not so much anymore.

Mom-ninja.
I feel ya. So jealous of my kids who can eat anything and run around with zero ailments. Yesterday we celebrated a birthday and I ate: BBQ ribs, fries, chips, hard cider, ice cream, candy corn, and chocolate cake. I was up past 1 a.m. waiting for the pepto bismal to work its magic. Kim in Appalachia
I'm at the point that I can't eat any ice cream, at all. In fact all dairy, no matter what time of day I eat it, gives me issues. I do still allow myself a little chocolate, but that's it. :( It does stink. ChocolateReignRemix
I am much better today. And the ice cream was delicious! It is taunting me from the freezer but I won't be tricked again! Well, at least not today.
Kim in Appalachia
There are good coconut milk ice creams. I've not tried the conconut ones, but I have tried other non-dairy ice creams, and they are just not the same. I mean, they were ok, but not worth the calories, which is a benefit. :)
zoobie
There are good coconut milk ice creams. The little ice cream sandwiches are yummy. I like the almond milk and soy versions as well.

BarbecueMom
I really dislike coconut and tried a coconut variety that dh and ds brought home once. It had a chocolate exterior (ice-cream on a stick). I took one bite and gave it back to the boys lol. I am under the impression that if the item was full chocolate (not just the exterior) then it might mute the coconut flavor but I decided not to venture anymore into that taste test territory once I found Breyer's chocolate available. I use the coconut milk coffee creamer, but everything else coconut grosses me out too. I like the Almond Dream cappuccino flavor ice cream. I can still only eat about 1/3 of a cup at a time. Too much sugar.

GailV
It seems to be the dairy after a certain hour.I can sympathize. Dairy keeps me awake. For me it isn't an issue with lactose, by the way. Edited to add that this thread has helped me realize that I need to eat ice cream this morning for breakfast.
kewb
I have found with ice cream it is the brand of ice cream. High end ice cream, such as Talenti gelato or hagaan daz from the store vs the supermarket I can eat any time without any issues. Brands that use fillers I can not eat at all. Regarding inexpensive ice cream with fillers - I was startled to realized that even ice cream isn't gluten free (in many brands).

Seasider
Today I must accept that I can no longer handle corn chips from one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. Tragic. And painful.
Word Nerd
Someday I will learn to accept that the weather is supposed to get cold and windy at this time of year and it isn't a sign that the universe hates me. chocolatechip
Re. the coconut ice cream: It's really and truly better. I tried some rice milk ice cream once and didn't even finish it because it was just blah. Coconut Bliss, however. . . :drool5: The chocolate peanut butter one is to die for.
