gaillardia
You can catch up on your sleep tomorrow afternoon. We tried waking up our eldest years ago for an eclipse but he snoozed right through it even though we had shuffled him outside in blankets and tried to keep him propped up. I plan to be watching and have two night owls that will be joining me.
twoxcell
That is the plan here. The kids are watching The Ten Commandments tonight and trying to stay awake. We are on the West Coast so it won't be as late for us. We just watched this video it is pretty cute.
twoxcell
It's cloudy here :( It is a bit cloudy here too. I'm hoping the moon won't be behind one during the actual eclipse.
gaillardia
Sadie, you have my sympathy. I dislike when it is cloudy and we're missing a celestial event! Twoxcell: good luck keeping your kids awake! I have sleep problems and am usually awake late anyway.

gardenmom5
the last two days have been ding-dong clear. so of course, the clouds moved in this afternoon. (GLARE!!!!!) it never fails, if there is something to see in the sky, meteors, the auroa borealis coming very far south, lunar eclipses, stars . . . there will be clouds. I'm doing the Griffith observatory.

twoxcell
We could see it until the last sliver of white vanished but now we can not see anything in the sky. We are watching the color change now on a live feed.
Sara in AZ
Great view here! The kids lasted until midnight before they went in. By then it was mostly shadowed and some color was appearing.
idnib
It's hazy here so we can see it but blurry. I'm hoping the clouds blow off in the next few minutes. Waking the kids in 10.
MistyMountain
It is clear here and not even too late. I tried to wake my kids briefly but the glanced quickly and went back to bed.
gaillardia
Clear, clear skies here, ch-ch-chilly, and it is not as blood red or even as orange as I thought it would be, but that matters not, it is still an awesome thing to watch. Back outside for me!
twoxcell
My 4 year old thought the eclipse was about the best thing ever. I couldn't believe how excited he was to watch it. :)
Amira
We got up for about 30 minutes. I'm looking forward to the one in 18 months that will be when I am awake. :) Still, an eclipse is always worth losing a little sleep for.
twoxcell
We can finally see it again and it is reddish orange. The older two kids got to look at it and are now in bed. I took my youngest out for a glimpse too, but younger dd was out for the count. ;)
Word Nerd
I watched through my bedroom window and didn't even have to get out of bed.

mom2myboys
It was too overcast here. :( Didn't even think to check for live streaming video. Is there anywhere we can see some pics or see a recording of it?
Jennifer3141
Snowed here. Snowed. Again. Ack!
gardenmom5
I got up just before dawn - and I could see the moon peeking out of the clouds. figures. the last two nights, it's shined brightly into my bedroom, but not last night for the eclipse. I watched online.
gaillardia
Well, it's okay if you missed it. I read online that we are going to have three more lunar eclipses visible in the U.S. within the next year and if anyone would like to chat about what specific nights they are to occur on, feel free. Having seen the one, I'm not sure I will let it keep me up or get out of bed for it.
Amira
The one in September 2015 will be the easiest one to see since it won't be in the middle of the night. Those are always my favorites. The next two will be in the early morning- not long before sunrise. And one of those will have a very brief total phase which I like too. I think we'll have to sit on our roof to see them, but it's cool to see the moon set eclipsed.
