Angie in VA
Please fill in the blank. My dc go through them so fast. I take care of mine, and even mine die. While I can't afford crazy expensive earbuds, I'm not saving money getting them as often as I do. Recommendations?
Shellie
coosh have worked well for us. i have three littles, and so far, only one pair broke because someone stepped on them. but normal wear and tear, none have fallen apart in the 3+ years I have been using them so far. Thank you. I'm not sure my dc or I would like that around the ear part. Going to look to see if there are other versions. And I see there one set has detachable ear rings. And the price is right! Score!
Gil
I don't know but in my experience, it is NOT Skullcandy, thats for sure.
umsami
Skeptical me says…"nobody." There aren't any durable ones…. especially for children, so I'd buy the cheapest ones I could. Sometimes on Amazon, you can buy them in bulk.
Shellie
yes, the rings around the ear are removable. that's actually the FIRST thing i do is take them off, they mess with my glasses :)

Kalmia
These (Nuforce -- the more expensive ones) have lasted me years. The wires to the headphones are very wide, almost never tangle and don't break when the cord gets caught on things. I love them. While I have had these, my kids have been through about 10 sets of Sony, Skullcandy, etc. http://www.amazon.com/Nuforce-NE-600M-BLACK-High-Efficiency-Headphones-Microphone/dp/B007POCCBY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1397234213&sr=8-1&keywords=Nuforce+headphones

AnIslandGirl
We've had good luck with the Bose brand. http://www.hammacher.com/Product/83337?promo=search For slightly less, our daughter has the pink Beats ones, and they have help up so far. I love these! I even dropped them in a cup of juice and hours later - they worked!
MIch elle
beats with the thick cord - pay the extra for the warranty (Best Buy) - it's worth it!
5of5
I don't know how rugged they are, but Amazon's deal of the day is Klipsch: http://www.amazon.com/b/ref=gbsl_tit_l-1_0942_fdd5aa6b?ie=UTF8&node=9013913011&smid=A1KWJVS57NX03I&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_t=701&pf_rd_s=left-new-1&pf_rd_r=152H891GP60M9D18CHT6&pf_rd_i=20&pf_rd_p=1740370942

Joyofsixreboot
I've had good luck with $10 maxell soft ones. I found them for $5 on sale so look around.
In The Great White North
How about some with cat-resistant cords?
Pippen
My kids are older so I don't know how they hold up with younger children, but we've been using the top rated cheap earbuds on Amazon for a few years now and they've held up well. Just plug in earbuds and Panasonic cheapies with about 10,000 reviews should pop up first.
KungFuPanda
I bought some guaranteed ones at radio shack. My daughter is rough on them. They've lasted about a year, but when she kills them, we plan to return them for a new pair.
Angie in VA
Thank you for all the suggestions. I had some Coosh sent to dd at college. Love Amazon Prime! I just happened to peek at 1sale today and saw not one but two offers for headphones. I got the cheaper one, 2 in fact, to dole out while I save for sturdier ones. I've never ordered from them before, so we'll see how that goes. Lots of good info here. Thank you, everyone.
