Spryte
I hate shopping. But I need a new outfit - preferably a few, but definitely at least one for a gigantic outdoor party at the end of May. Here's the thing - I am picky. Before kids, I was in the art world. My clothes were all purchased at art shows or tiny, very cool little shops I'd find while traveling. Since I'm no longer on the road, I don't find those great little shops any more, or run across funky handmade clothes. I've devolved into jeans, v-neck tees and birks. It's fine for most of the time, but now I need something more. Our local shops are lacking - so I need to look online. Any great ideas on where to look for good quality, fun clothes? My price range is pretty open, as long as I like the clothes and they are well made, I'm willing to spend a bit. Hoping you can point me to some new options! Oh! And just to add... I'm a shortie. :) Seriously, I never quite hit 5'. So petite options are a bonus! ...Also, because I have OJ family, I prefer to find 3/4 length sleeves (or cover ups) and below the knee skirts - just because I like to respect their beliefs, and when attending events with them it's really necessary. So those options are a double bonus!
bolt.
You could try modcloth -- I like it.
fairfarmhand
I don't know about the petite options, but northstyle has some great dresses and skirts. Mod cloth is good too. Their dresses run short on taller people, so they might be good for you!
Seasider
Boden sometimes carries items with that artsy-Bohemian look. Otherwise, I'm all ears. I like your style!
crazyforlatin
Modcloth, which has free shipping and free returns. When Dd gets older, that's where I'm going to order clothes for her. Did you see President Obama's younger daughter wearing this beautiful sleeveless dress a few months ago? It was from Modcloth.
justamouse
I used to live close to this company. I'm glad to see they're even bigger. Bluefish.
J-rap
I would try Urban Outfitters. They often have good sales too, and they have that artsy look. :)
Tap
LOL how do you fell about wearing Monet? Sundance Catalog has a few petite dresses. They remind me of Monet though, so I would have to love his work to wear one of them. (I don't think I could get the connection out of my mind to wear them without thinking of him). Starr
Are you familiar with Fab ? My arty friends in NYC sell some of their things and buy others there. http://fab.com/department/women/?ref=subnav
Cera
Anthropologie often has fun stuff.
Spryte
Thanks! I didn't know about Modcloth - fun! And everything else looks great - some companies I remember, some are new to me. I love new finds! Now I'm off to shop, if the kiddos will finish up their school work so I can take some computer time. Priorities, you know!

MusicMama
I love Shabby Apple. ETA: I'm Mormon, and this is a site that has great dresses that are stylish and all are modest in cut.
ElizabethB
WinterSilks has nice skirts and dresses, they have some fun patterns: http://wintersilks.blair.com/t/women/dresses-skirts/pc/207/213.uts I am now allergic to polyester, and have to find cotton or silk, I have had good luck with the few pieces I got from WinterSilks. mandymom
I'm not quite 5' also, and I find that J Jill fits well. Not sure if their clothes will be artsy enough, but they are well made and their petites are true petites.
