HollyDay
I'm trying to figure out what to make for Valentine's Day.
whitestavern
We're having strawberry scones for breakfast and I bought some cards and chocolatey treats to put by their plates. DH and I are leaving them alone for the first time (at night) to have a romantic dinner out, so I'd like to make them something special for dinner as well, although I haven't figured that out yet. Anne in CA
I just buy lots of cheap candy, lol.
unsinkable
There is a local candy store that will write anything on a chocolate heart, so I get each kid a personalized one. DD and DS2 get orange chocolate and DS1 gets white chocolate. I usually broil an expensive steak, either strip or filet.
KrissiK
None. I send my son into the store on the way to our co-op party to buy Valentine's cookies from the bakery. And not the good ones, either. The cheap ones in the plastic container with the pink and red sprinkles. I just can't manage Valentine's Day, for some reason. Impish
Tazzie's birthday is the 15th, so we don't do much at all for Valentine's.
LarlaB
Somehow my DH agreed to let me go on a cruise w/ my sister over V-day (her marriage is on the rocks, big-time) - anyway, I'm taking extra good care of my people at home... I already made them a candy bouquet w/ about 50 mini candy bars taped onto wooden skewers (add tissue, ribbons and viola) ; also sending them Shari's Berries (found a living social coupon so made it less ridiculous) and will be making them heart-shaped sandwiches & pancakes, as well as small heart shaped cheese & summer sausage to eat. So yes- a LOT of junk food and overall food based ideas :( I'm not thrilled, but decided to just splurge on some not-so-awesome food since I feel guilty about being gone, but also trying to keep it simple & cheap. :)
Khselee
I make cheesecake filled chocolate-covered strawberries for breakfast, and red coated chocolate chip cookies for treats. I do heart shaped sandwiches, cucumber slices, lunch meat - I'm ridiculous. Whatever I can think of to do, I usually do. It's fun.
HSinNH
DH and I went to Austria for our honeymoon, so I am making a Sachertorte. Hope it turns out!
