Sharon37127
oh man. BTDT. It's really discouraging to the both of you. Great opportunity to show him show him unconditional love in a pretty concrete way, right?
Cricket
This has happened to us. In our town, if you go down to the court house you can set up payment arrangements instead of having to pay it all at once.

Unicorn.
That's why they have defensive driving classes! Take it, and get it removed from the record. I hate the cost of insurance going up when those things happen.
Desert Rat
Ugh. I do hate that. I got a ticket for rolling through a stop sign on the way to see my dad in the hospital. And the cop didn't put an amount on it so I have to go pay it in person. At the court house in a bad part of town. Fun times.
Barb_
Ouch. Once I got two in a week at Christmas at a speed camera. The speed limit dropped from 65 to 55 and I would forget. Particularly right around Christmas :glare:
Brilliant
That's why they have defensive driving classes! Take it, and get it removed from the record. I hate the cost of insurance going up when those things happen. In California, it's more expensive up front to get the ticket dismissed with defensive driving. Although it doesn't go on your record, so yes, you save on the insurance. My dh got a ticket last year when he made a left turn across a double yellow line. :( It would have been about $300 to just pay it. It was $20 higher to pay it with the defensive driving dismissal, plus the cost of the defensive driving class.
Jpoy85
I actually just got one for speeding. I could pay it out or go to court for payments. Mine for driving 65 in 45 was $164. I wont be speeding anymore!

6packofun
I'm sorry!! Our school budget just got blown on a, well, blown tire AND a cracked windshield. *sigh* I understand--even though these weren't from stress or anger. lol
Truscifi
Yes. BTDT. I also hate it when my month's budget is blown replacing a lost retainer. :glare:
Anne in CA
Yes, it totally sucks, but last year I was the one to do it. I was coming home late from work and drove through a particular suburb of Portland that is known for an aggressive police and even though I was driving in a large group of cars and didn't even know I was speeding, I got picked for the ticket. I felt awful. $270 down the tubes. Now it's on my driving record.
