Major Cuteness Alert. Meet Jax!

Recommended Posts

He is lovely!

We just lost our Old English Mastiff

and although he was a completely different

breed, as a puppy he looked just like this,

except sand-colored. He had liver disease

and died too young (we put him down so

he wouldn't suffer.)

This makes me remember my puppy!

He was such a good dog!

I'm so sorry you lost your dog. I had an Old English Mastiff when I was a kid and he was very loving and sweet.

What are their temperments like?

Elise in NC?

Honestly, it depends on their lineage. Modern day Olde English Bulldogges originated by breeding half English Bulldog, and the other half a mix of Bullmastiff, American Bulldog and Pit bull. Like English Bulldogs, they were originally used (in the 16th and 17th centuries) as bull baiters and were aggressive and violent by nature. Now...not so much. They aren't very active, can be a bit stubborn but are very loyal and sweet, and great with kids.

Right now I'm just hoping he doesn't try to eat my cats. :001_huh:
