Lovin Learnin
We were at the dollar store and there was a large stack of these gift bags for sale. I REALLY hope they got these bags for free.

Mynyel
Yup, that is probably why they are at the dollar store. Misprint. I hope.
SonshineLearner
Well, I think you found out why they were at the Dollar Store ;)

Heather in AL
:svengo: I am just horrified at what is happening to all the kittens!! It's like half the country was missing from school over the last 20 years each time possessives were taught. Geez.
ThisIsTheDay
:lol::lol: Your title cracks me up! I was so worried, HOW could a kitten die at the dollar store?!
AndyJoy
Sadly, I think that at least 2 kittens die when the word shouldn't have even had the letter s at all!
Lovin Learnin
Sadly, I think that at least 2 kittens die when the word shouldn't have even had the letter s at all! :iagree:: Yes! That's what I was thinking. How in the world did this item even make it to print?
Perogi
That definitely killed more than a kitten...
SunnyDays
Sadly, I think that at least 2 kittens die when the word shouldn't have even had the letter s at all! I know... it doesn't even make any SENSE written like that!! I am, however, delighted that no actual kittens were harmed. :D
Slartibartfast
That doesn't even make sense.
Kirch
They probably came from the same place as the mugs I saw at a dollar store a couple of years ago that wished you a "Marry Christmas."
Momof3littles
Sadly, I think that at least 2 kittens die when the word shouldn't have even had the letter s at all! :iagree: It just adds to the tragedy of it all!
Cinder
:iagree:: Yes! That's what I was thinking. How in the world did this item even make it to print? You know it was probably printed in a factory where English isn't spoken.
Mrs Mungo
Sadly, I think that at least 2 kittens die when the word shouldn't have even had the letter s at all! Or maybe a kitten and a bunny? :iagree:: Yes! That's what I was thinking. How in the world did this item even make it to print? You know it was probably printed in a factory where English isn't spoken. Exactly. Companies want to be as cheap as possible. So, they don't hire copy editors (which, they need for coloring books, gift bags and cards, as we have seen here), and the stuff is made in a factory in China or somewhere. So, nobody catches it. If you have to give everything away to sell in the dollar store because of mistakes, then are you *really* saving money by doing it that way? mandymom
My guess is that they were printed in China or Taiwan. I've been to Taiwan twice, and we play a game to see who can find the funniest sign or T-shirt that has been translated so very badly. But if that is the case, at least they have the excuse that English isn't their first language.
BatmansWife
 If it were me.....I probably would have had to buy one just because it's so completely ridiculous.

Guest submarines
I've been here long enough to know about the "kittens." I've read and chuckled over many similar threads. And yet this particular thread title gives me an unpleasant physical reaction every time I see it. Funny how this works. I'm aware that no live kitten was harmed, and yet the mere words affect me. :001_huh: Anyone else? Or am I in my sensitive time of the month (or year)? Lovin Learnin
 If it were me.....I probably would have had to buy one just because it's so completely ridiculous. Well it wasn't worth my $1.10 so I did the next best thing and took a picture. That picture led to an interesting conversation at a dinner party I attended yesterday. We were laughing at my picture when one of the guests mentioned she had attended a funeral that day for a high school language arts teacher. She pulled out the obituary and showed us how it was littered with grammatical errors. It was sad. Too many people don't even notice. Lovin Learnin
This is my nightmare. I'm starting on my obituary now. Not a bad idea. I just hope I go before my dh. One of his Master's degrees is in English so he has become the unofficial, official writer of family obituaries. Is it creepy to ask him to write one for himself sometime soon? :tongue_smilie:
