StartingOver
Curious on who has read what, and if they have only read it one time? This poll is only for those who have read at least one of TWTM Editions ! Edited November 16, 2011 by StartingOver
Chris in VA
2nd Ed, lots and lots and lots of times! 3rd Ed, just snippets from Amazon (you can actually read a good bit of it there!).
StartingOver
Well, I own all three editions and they are all three practically falling apart from use... soooo.... I own all three also. The first edition I used for years. When I started over with my little ones I bought the 2nd and 3rd editions. The 1st and 3rd have been read many, many, many times. All three are within arms reach. dhudson
Seriously considering buying the Kindle Edition as I am tired of lugging TWTM 3rd Ed through airports. Along with my Bible, it is one of the have to bring books. I mean what if I am at a beach and can't remember what SWB says about critical thinking in 6 th grade? It could be tragic.
NancyNellen
I have read the 1st edition once straight through and have returned to different sections multiple times over the years. I never felt compelled to purchase newer editions.
pdalley
Read and re-read 2nd edition from library. Read and re-read 3rd edition from library and then purchased my own. Index tabbed and highlighted. Next to me at my desk right now. :001_smile:
Night Elf
I once owned all 3 at the same time. I gave away the 2nd book first, then the 3rd book. I refuse to give up my original 1st edition because it is way more dog-eared than the other two. I just love it. I used to keep it nearby for reference. Now that my kids are in high school and their school work is out of my hands, the book sits on my bookshelf untouched. Isn't that so sad? EmilyinND
I voted 3rd many times, although I really only read the grammar & logic stage many times, just skimmed through the high school section once.
TheReader
Umm, is it terrible I don't know what edition I have???? Anyway, it's the Kindle edition, and I'm on my first time through. I do not think it will be my last time through, and I've got quite a notebook going of notes.....
6packofun
I've read the 2nd edition twice, but don't own it. (Wasn't sure how to vote for that...lol)
coffeegal
Have and read #1 many, many times. It sat on my desk for over 10 years until #3 moved next to it, and now has replaced it. I moved #1 into my storage bookshelves a few months ago. I needed the room. :crying: Check out #2 from the library many, many times to read and compare to #1. Have and read #3 several times. I'll compare it to the first edition, and it is now the one sitting on my desk instead of the 1st edition.
JumpedIntoTheDeepEndFirst
I've gone through the 2nd edition so many times that I put divider tabs in to find everything I wanted to know. Studied it on a plane flight with pencil and highlighter once-people looked at me pretty funny as I made notes as I went.
BatmansWife
I asked in the other thread about, but no one has answered: What are the differences between the 1st, 2nd, 3rd editions (some of you have read them all)....and which one is your favorite; the one you'd recommend?? I can't vote in the poll so I can't see the answers.

Oh, the newest edition would likely make the most sense for people new to WTM because the recommendations are more up to date and less likely to be out of print. Tiffnkids
I have the 3rd edition and I think it has more bookmarks, post it notes, and "dogears" than it has pages. Not to mention the underlining, highlighting, and notes in the margins.
Joker
I've read the first so many times that I wasn't sure of my own notes. :tongue_smilie: I've read the third edition twice ~ so far!
Homemama2
I've read all 3 from the library many times. I have the 3rd ed. at home right now.:001_wub:
BatmansWife
I just checked my library and they can get all 3. What to do?? I requested the 3rd edition. :001_smile:
*Lulu*
I had to check the library info online to see what edition I've been reading. I have checked it out from our library so frequently they are probably going to ask me to buy my own copy. :tongue_smilie:
Annie Laurie
The second edition, many times. I keep thinking about getting the third, and have paged through it at Barnes and Noble, but I'm not sure if the updates are enough to justify getting it. Just talking about it now made me decide I want it though- for the writing updates on lit analysis and such.
FairyMom
I read the 2nd Edition first, borrowed it from a friend. Bought the 3rd Edition and have read it several times. :)
Sugarfoot
I've read them all, multiple times. For anyone who's never read them and is considering buying one, I think the 3rd edition makes the most sense just because it has the most recent recommendations. I have an emotional attachment to my 1st edition, simply because I read it when I was just getting started with homeschooling and my oldest was five.:)
....
I've read all 3 editions. The third edition follows me around the house all the time.
Lucy in Australia
1st edition, read many times, and it's never too far from me. Like someone else said: what if I'm at the beach and I can't remember what SWB says about critical thinking in 6th grade? Tragic indeed :iagree: ;)
