  1. I voted dog. We have 2. Love them...but I also love cats & would love to have one, but my husband (as well as many other people that mean alot to us) is allergic. So-o I vote dog.
  2. I'm so happy I came across this thread! It gives me hope for my ds13. All of the examples I've read sound so much like him. Sometimes my dh & I just look at each other in disbelief & shake our heads. I say,"He's never going to be able to hold down a job." My dh says,"He's not leaving the nest" But reading this makes me feel like, if they're all like this, he might be ok!!
  3. :iagree: I haven't either. I have had my Whirlpool Duet set for about 4 yrs & haven't had the smell ( Unless I've left wet clothes in there too long):blushing: I love my front loaders!
  4. Congrats on the dishwasher coming!! The dishes are probably my least favorite chore.
  5. My 13 yr old Aspie ds is on the Daytrana Patch which has worked well for us for several years. He has taken Concerta, but it wasn't consistent, Strattera didn't work at all for him & Vyvanse made him angry. As you can see from all the other responses it really depends on the child. Trial & error...:001_smile:
  6. Hi! I live in McVille, ND about an hour & 15 from Grafton. My husband is from Minto about 9 miles from Grafton. When researching our laws, it does seem restrictive, but at least in the school district where I live all we do is the annual statement of intent & standardized tests every other year. I know some others in the Grand Forks area who have had some run ins with certain schools but nothing serious. Not sure how strict they are in the Grafton area, but we haven't had any trouble where we're at. Hope that helps.
  7. We redid our kitchen last year and got all stainless steel appliances. When I told the sales person that I was concerned about fingerprints etc. he whipped out Pledge Multisurface & a cloth & sprayed it on the floor models & it cleaned off all the smudges. Easy peasy. That's what I use here & have had no problems with it. Hope that helps. PS~ I have tried "stainless steel cleaners & wipes" before & did not like them at all.
  8. I voted yes, but I have a sanitary cycle on my washer that I use.
  9. My son is on Doxycycline twice a day in combination with Differin lotion (used at bedtime) the Differin is a retinol treatment like Retin A but supposed to be less irritating, it also comes in a gel. The Differin is expensive but we got a rebate for the first 3 months to help offset the costs. My son is 13 & not always the best with consistently following the program, but when he does use it regularly I notice a big improvement. His derm. said it could take 6 months of consistent use for his skin to be clear & even then, he may sometimes break out, but the hope is that it will be less severe & easier to treat when he does break out.
  10. I said other. We wear our rings when we go somewhere. I don't wear mine around the house because I bump it & also because I don't like washing my hands with the thing on (it feels weird:lol:) My husband is a farmer & doesn't want to risk losing his finger if it gets hooked in something, plus his is very dirty work...
  11. Yesterday Zumba. Today Jillian Michaels 30 day shred Tomorrow probably Zumba again... *sigh* I loathe you exercise...
  12. My ds is in 7th. We use Teaching Textbooks. He struggles in math & I like the fact that they have solutions for every problem. He gets 2 opportunities to do the problem, if he gets it wrong, he watches the step by step solution. It doesn't hurt that it grades everything for you, too! :001_smile:
  13. This is a no-brainer for me-mother. Wish I could say I was equally good at both. That being said, I do have a strong marriage & I mess up at being a mother (as we all do). I just don't devote as much time or energy toward my husband as I do my children & he probably gets the tired, crabby side of me more.
  14. Yes! I see this one all. The. Time! Don't know if anyone has mentioned this one yet, but, you aren't family orientated, you are family oriented. ETA-Oops! I guess there was a whole conversation on this earlier!
  15. Could it just be the excitement of having you home? (Hopefully...) Hope he gets back on schedule soon!
  16. My husband packs his own lunch. He knows what he wants. If I brought my lunch everyday I would prefer to pack my own because, well, who knows what I would get! Growing up, though, my mom packed my dad's lunch as well as mine (& my brother's). I know that my mil packed my fil's lunch as well as her kids'.
  17. We really like HO. Easy to follow, easy to implement. We use it with the timeline from pandia. I like that the lessons are all laid out for us, so there is minimal prep time.
