I had a board at work we would use sharpies on so that it did not rub off during the day and then scribble over it with the dry erase. Came right off. redsquirrel Posted February 27, 2011 Share Posted February 27, 2011 I had good luck with a magic eraser. it didn't seem to harm the white board. But, it was a cheap board and I am not picky. I do not know if it will work if it has been there a long time but I have had luck with Sharpies that had been left on over the weekend. We often use sharpies on our laminated pages, and then just clean them off with Everclear--which I bought for making homemade hand sanitizer. My sweet hubby has just completed 3 rounds of spraying the dry erase cleaner on the board waiting a while and scrubbing it off with the magic eraser. Now I just keep refilling the bottle with rubbing alcohol. We use sharpies on the page protectors I put the kids assignment sheets in, too, and I clean that with rubbing alcohol, and it comes right off.
