So far this season, their predictions have been fairly accurate. They're showing Kristy Lee, Jason and Ramiele in the bottom three. I would be fine with Kristy or Ramiele going home, but I would like to see Jason stick around a little longer. My favorites, though, are David A., David C., Brooke and Carly.:)

I think they should change the format and send home more than one at a time.

This week the following people should be removed from the show:

Ramiele for being boring.

Kristy Lee for being boring.

Syesha for being boring.

Ryan for being annoying.

Paula for being a dim bulb.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

And does anyone else find themselves slipping into Randy Jackson's vernacular from time to time. I just love it. I want to say to my kids "Look here, dog." "Listen up, baby, that wasn't great but I'm not mad at you."

Of course we could also slip into Paula Abdul mode...."You're a STAR, you really connected with me, your hair looks fabulous tonight, you're a STAR."

I think I will combine them into "Look here, dog, you're a STAR". My kids will wonder if I have been hitting the prescription cough syrup again.

My bottom 3 would be Syesha, Ramiele, and Kristi. I would love to see Carly look less....dark....and try a new look. With the black hair hanging in her face, super dark eye makeup, and always black clothes, she comes off as scary to me, especially with the intense faces she makes while singing. Put her hair up out of her face, lighten up the makeup, and try wearing something besides black! I have a hard time getting past her appearance to enjoy her voice. I love her speaking voice, the Irish lilt she has is cute.

LOL!! I like Ryan, but I think Paula has got to go!!! I'm sorry, but I don't think bulb is even very dim. I think it just plain isn't turned on. We often use AI speak. I'll say to the kids, "Sorry dog, it was just ah-ite for me" Our favorite Paula-ism is to say something about how "joy-filled" they are.

Yes! that is so funny! I really am doing the same thing.

"I'm just not loving that about you, babe."

(when my dh didn't feel like cleaning off the dinner table)

"That aura is looking so nice coming from you."

(when my little guy agreed to brush his teeth without a battle)

"I am so connecting with that fun attitude."

(when my other little guy brought me flowers)

I think any of the ladies could go. I do like Carly but I agree, she's just too dark. I think she has an incrediable voice though. I have liked Michael Johns from the beginning but wasn't too pleased with his performance last night. His voice is awesome, but I didn't like all the "sexy" talk. Well, it wasn't very family-friendly but I guess I shouldn't really expect that.

Definately still pulling for David Cook.

GO DAVID!!

Ai-ght. I feel you, Dawg.

I agree. I still roll my eyes when I think of her "colors" comment. Seriously. The 80's called Paula, they want their cool back!

Don't even get me started on Ryan. I bigger horses patoot, I have never seen. (Sorry, Mindy)

Syesha is so full of herself. She looked genuinely surprised that Simon didn't think that she sounded like Whitney Houston. I hope she goes home. Either her or Kristi Lee Cook.

Last night glorious seemed to be her word. Another episode it was "radiant" which kept making me think of Charlotte's Web. ;)

I agree. I'd give up a day's worth of chocolate if Kristy Lee and Ramiele could both be gotten rid of this evening. I can't like Kristy Lee after what she did to Faithfully. And I'm still occasionally haunted by that horrific Eight Days A Week. *shudder*

And no, I am NOT a little too invested in AI since I'm home alone during the week. Really.

Aww Andie. You are glorious. You are a star. You are a rock star. You are all the colors of the rainbow. I want to squish you and squeeze your head off and dangle you from my rearview mirror. Your hair looks fabulous by the way.

One more thing.....

Does anyone want to agree with me that it is probably time for Dolly Parton to retire?

Between the horrible, horrible, outfit and the not quite on pitch singing, I was feeling sorry for her. Add to that the fact that she probably should have stopped seeing the plastic surgeon some time ago, and she is just a caricature of herself now.

I think it is a shame because even if you are not a country music fan (I'm not) she is a legend. Her rags to riches story is inspiring and I hate to see her legacy become a joke.

It reminds me of young Elvis Presley vs. old Elvis Presley.

to watch her and not think negative thoughts. Like you said, she is a legend and I hate to disrespect that, but her singing was terrible. I had to keep reminding myself who I was watching so I didn't go into "Idol mode" and begin ripping her apart.

Still, she's a lovely spirit and so sweet. but she needs to stick to songwriting.

I totally agree. The whole time I'm watching, I'm just thinking, lay off the plastic surgeon. I don't watch Dancing with the Stars, but I just happened to turn it on the other night and Priscilla Presley and Dolly need to hook up. She looks terrible to as far as I'm concerned.

I don't know, dawg....your kids might reply with "Look, mom, what's going on? It wasn't your best lecture, dawg, but it was alright. You started out a bit pitchy and the middle was kind of funky but you worked it out at the end, dawg." :D

Yes, poor Dolly. I thought the song was great...but needed to be sung by someone else!! She still has a delightful spirit, but a voice.....notsomuch.

I thought it was very Kristy Lee was very awkward on the show last night with that note she brought out.

Well...(said in my best british accent)...I think you are all spot on with your reviews. Ramiele and Kristie Lee are Bloody Awful, and Dolly couldn't sing her way out of a bag last night. Oh, and by the way, I am right, I am never wrong, and I am not sorry!

Whew, okay, I'm back - Whenever we watch, dh gets to be Randy, dd gets to be Paula, which leaves me with Simon. And that is fine with me! He is brutally honest, and I like it! My dd yells "TOUCHDOWN" for everyone, and says "you are a bright and shining star"

This is the first year we have watched - after the tryouts - and dd and I are enjoying it. My dd almost gave up when Jason was in the bottom three, but he may be able to pull it out. I can't believe that Brooke was in the bottom last night though. HHHMMM...

Um, who gets stuck being Ryan. That would be the worst, having to be Ryan. I would be looking for a new family if I got stuck being Ryan.

I am usually Paula. I don't like Paula, but I do like playing Paula.

We just generally ignore Ryan - he really is no fun, ya' know!

Oh, I think Ryan is getting a bum rap. Sure, he is cheesy, but he has a really hard job. He has to make those awkward transitions and I think he does that as well as anyone could.

I think the way he acts towards Simon is so very middle schoolish.

Does he not realize the judges, all three judges, are there for a purpose? And that their purpose is far more important to the show and to the future careers of these contestants than his purpose?

If he would just do his job and stop the stupid attempts at sparring with Simon I could deal with him. He just acts like such a four year old.

But, I have practice homeschool avoidance long enough this morning.

See y'all at lunch break!

I thought about your post all day, and it's bugging me, so I have to respond.

DP is 62yo.(Which, imo, isn't "old" by any stretch of the imagination.) My own mother didn't make it to 62; she died of a massive heart attack at 61. The last 10 years of her life were spent at the local casino and increasing her cigarette habit, that she knew was killing her.

My mil hung it up at about 60, cutting herself off from all social life, including church, and for the past 25 years has spent most of her time in a recliner with the tv remote, save for the moments she waits hand and foot on her 42yos who still lives at home and has never had a job. I've never known her to do so much as walk around the block.

My own grandma started acting "old" in her 50s. Everything about her screamed "crabby old lady".

At 41, I am struggling to lose 60lbs, and the gray hairs are settling in faster than I can color them. Having said that, I hope that when I am 62 I have the energy to perform like DP, and look as good as she does, although I have no intention of getting plastic surgery. She sure seemed happy. :D I would not wear an outfit like she did last night, but when I'm 62, I would like it to be *my* choice not to.

Anyway, I just had to defend her. I can only hope to look even half that great when I am her age. I want to be a hot, se*y grandma whose rocking chair time is limited to rocking my grandbabies. :001_smile:

Ooh! American Idol! I'll jump in on this. (:

Yes, sometimes I have NO idea what the judges are going on about. It's like they're in their own little world - especially Paula! At least they're usually entertaining.

I think I liked David Cook the best, followed by David A. I liked their takes on the songs. I'm guessing the bottom three will be all girls - Brooke (which makes me sad, I like her), Sayesha and Carly, I'm thinking.

I've never watched a season of Idol before. It's amazingly addictive!

Anyone watching tonight? What's up with the hamburger talk? Did anyone think that the judges had lost their minds for a minute with all the beef-bun-condiment talk?

Who'd you like tonight?

Dude, Paula is straight up nuts. I look at the TV like this :001_huh: when she is speaking.

Earth to Paula...come in Paula!!

Once again, I loved David Cook. He is da bomb.

Listen up, Babee, did you catch Simon's comment to David Cook? He said he felt like he had been in karoke hell and then David came out and was a breath of fresh air.

The Davids were great. Jason was so-so but he can still marry my daughter.

Carly's voice was not big enough for that song. Brooke was only okay but I am not mad at her. Syesha was technically good, as usual, but has nothing special or unique, as usual. Kristy was only okay.

Bottom three? I am calling Syesha, Kristy and Brooke.

Who do you call?

Once again I share my fondest American Idol fantasy, the fantasy that is bigger than the one about Jason marrying my daughter. You know what I am talking about, don't you? Yes, I am talking about my fantasy where Ryan is voted off the island.

I agree with two of your choices, but I think Carly will be making another bottom 3 appearance. She oversings and screams.

Well, a soft spot might be a little generous but, I think he fills a role of making awkward transitions. There is no doubt he is cheesy and I don't like the banter between he and Simon but, I still think he is as good as anyone else in that postition. Don't play me wrong here, dawg. I ain't gonna start no Ryan fan club!

And Paula either needs to go straight to the loony bin or the rehab center, not sure which.

Yes the Davids were great, but so was Jason. I love his reaction to Randy's reaction; he laughs and has a good time. :)

Kristi. Kristi, please watch your performance, and withdraw. Please.

Syesha does not have a pleasant voice when she sings strong; the "big notes". I don't think she is usually technically good; she often misses those notes, sings out of key, or just badly. She is pleasing on quieter songs (but she always goes for the big songs). Carly didn't have a good performance tonight, either. Those are my choices for bottom three.

The chatter from the judges is distracting. They should each say their piece (if they must) then be quiet and let the next person speak. It's confusing to the contestant and the audience. I think that Paula, especially, goes overboard defending what she says, and praises a contestant more than another who does a better job, merely because she's angry at something Simon says about her comment. It's not fair to the singers.

I don't think these "coaching" shows are good for the singers- it's just a showcase for the "coach". I think it's too limiting for the contestants. The coaches have a definitive style. The AI singers are there to show what they can do and should be given a wider song choice to express themselves. At no time in their life did any of those guys (nor, probably, the girls) cover a Dolly Parton song or a Mariah Carey song.

that he doesn't infringe on that special place in my heart reserved just for Daughtry. But the story with his bro is just so touching, how can one not feel empathy toward him.

I'm not a huge David A. fan. He's an awesome singer, but that's all. He doesn't entertain me in the least. There's just nothing dynamic there.

All the others pale in comparison.

I have to say, I nearly had a nervous breakdown watching Brooke. Did anyone notice her quivering? She was so nervous, she was making me nervous. I think she's gotten more nervous each week!

Yes, I was so NERVOUS watching her. I didn't vote for anyone, but I really don't want Brooke to go home just yet. She is not the best, but I like her a lot. David C. was the best. I am sorry, but as well as David A. sings, I still don't like him. My sister and I call him "monkey boy" because he reminds me of one of those stuffed monkeys that either sucks their thumb or a pacifier. He is just too young. And... I love Jason. I don't think he did that great this week, but I love him anyway.

Can anyone tell me what song David Cook performed? I thought his performance from last week was really lame and I am so hoping that this week's was better. I figure someone will have it on youtube real soon.

But, I can't wait... what song did he perform and how was it?

I felt bad for the girls last night. I knew before the show even started that the boys would do better. I don't like the nights where they can only choose from the songs of one artist.

So, in the words of my husband, David C. was genius. I don't know why, but he says that he was. I don't like to watch him. I didn't have any favorites last night, but I think Carly should go home. I am not much of a Kristy Lee fan, but she has had a couple of weeks that weren't so bad. Carly just looks like is ticked off at someone. :001_huh:
