Apiphobic
I knew he had cancer and his show was canceled or something, but I had no idea he was that close to the end. :crying:

melissel
Poor man. He was not looking well for some time, though his reps kept saying he was fine and recovering. How sad for his friends and family :(
AlmiraGulch
He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in January of 2008. I'm surprised he lasted as long as he did. Very sad news.

Tree House Academy
Dirty Dancing was one of the first movies I really LOVED in my lifetime. I was really young when I watched it (bad parenting decision there! LOL) and I remember it all through my childhood. His death is so sad to me. He was 3 years younger than my mom! :(
Pip
He always seemed so classy and devoted to his wife. I read recently that he confirmed the cancer had spread to his liver. Still so sad.

Dirtroad
Oh, how sad! I grew up going to PS movies.... Dirty Dancing, Red Dawn, Road House, Next of Kin, Ghosts.... he was so young & fought so hard! Sad news. We just watched Red Dawn a week or so back. Not to get too deep into popculture... but he was a big deal in the 80s!
LUV2EDU
My heart goes out to his family. I lost my father on September 24, 2007 from brain cancer. I hate cancer.....
ConnieB
I knew he had cancer and his show was canceled or something, but I had no idea he was that close to the end. :crying: Do a google or you tube search for his interview in March, 2009 with Barbara Walters....but bring a box of tissue. What a wonderful example of how you can still be a BIG star but still be a good role model and a good human being. Married to the same woman for 20+ something years, no rumors or scandals about other women......no hissy fits or tantrums.......and an environmentalist to boot. And even ravaged by cancer he's a cutie patootie!
