  1. You need to pre register so that does ask for address etc, but we live the next county over and it’s never been an issue. They don’t turn away people. But I’ll let you know how it is today. Eta- the preregistration is so they have your contact info for results, not for an appointment
  2. We’ll get to see how it is today. Taking ds for testing. Last night it would have been 5 minutes, but dh didn’t think to stop. A Saturday though…. This is Tampa, Hillsborough County. Hope your local situation improves soon for everyone.
  3. My kids love pasta morning noon and night. And will eat it cold. Or microwave it. So I could make a ton of ziti or spaghetti and keep in fridge for them. I know you said no cooking- is microwaving okay? What about frozen meatballs? Can they nuke them, add sauce, and stick in a roll? frozen chicken nuggets and salad. Can you make a larger dinner the night before and set aside leftovers? Pre cook a bunch of shredded chicken. Use for tacos, chicken salad, with Buffalo sauce, bbq sauce etc. with rolls or crackers. Precook a bunch of chicken fried rice. They can heat up a bowl as needed. think dinner type meals you can make in bulk ahead of time.
  4. Do you use this? Will it work for this: I’d like to buy a book for all my kids to read. I usually just buy a paperback, but can I buy a kindle version and have them download it to their iPads? Or somehow read it online? I’m reading conflicting information on Amazon whether this works or not. Aside from possible sharing books, how do you use family share?
  5. I don’t know the best order, or the reasons why, but my boys’ private school makes them take AP Lang first. AP Lit is not an option until senior year 🤷‍♀️
  6. My kids are in private high schools, and so far so good. My dd knows of one student and one teacher out. Same at my boys school. I’m sure there’s probably more, but it’s not at all widespread as of yet. Masks optional. All activities and sports going on. My kids say they are among the few wearing them.
  7. I’m assuming they’re already doing ibuprofen and Tylenol? They usually work well for my kids sore throats. I’ve also read about coating it with a spoonful of honey. As kids we used to use Chlorospetic numbing spray. Personally, I always take NyQuil so I can sleep when sick. What about a hot toddy so he can sleep? There are lots of recipes for one online. I hope he feels better soon! And yes, I’d test for strep to be safe.
  8. That’s how I understand it. It’s meant for asymptomatic positive cases to be out of quarantine quicker. Not for sick positive cases to be out of quarantine.
  9. It could just be your area or the time of day. Definitely not all of Florida. There’s a testing site across my sons school that’s open from 7-7. I’ve gone there for testing in the past and it’s very efficient, but today, I didn’t even see two dozen people in line. That was mid-day. My dh went a week or two ago and it was a long line but he was only 45 minutes.
  10. Since you’re looking at the melatonin study, just check out any of these other supplements to see if something might work. We do the Quercetin w/Bromelain, zinc, c, melatonin, D3, mouthwash (if coming down sick or outbreak), and I just bought Nigella Sativa to have on hand. We also take NAC (not on the list below) during an outbreak and when sick. hope you feel better soon!
  11. Anyone use foot spas? What features do you like? Any recommendations? thank you!
  12. Anyone use this? In seed form or supplements? Looking for ideas or links to brands you like. Thanks!
  13. They did this for several days, but fever, throat, cough, breathing (asthma kid), and stomach kept getting worse instead of better.
  14. So even though you are sick, they make you come to work and spread it because it’s not covid?! Crazy!! Hope you feel better soon!
  15. Thanks for the responses. She has gotten progressively worse each day, started with mild sore throat and each day a new symptom, and the mom is concerned about how much worse it can get. Or how long it goes on. It really kicked off her asthma, so that’s why they needed the er. Fluids and breathing treatment stuff. Throat to sore to swallow much. And fever (104) wasn’t really going down. Allergic to ibuprofen so just issuing Tylenol. so it sounds ‘normal’.
  16. So my friends dd is sick- super sore throat, bad cough, high fever, bad joint pains, etc. Four Covid tests say negative over the past few days. No strep. No flu. Dr at ER says he’s been seeing a lot of this recently. All Covid like and sick, but testing negative. Anything like this in your area? Just wondering what is going around now and what prognosis and treatments are.
  17. I’d try a picture above the glass shelves- something longer/narrow. A fake pretty plant on the left side of the counter, and a bowl of fruit on your table or middle of counter. Just for extra color and to break up the flatness of the surfaces.
  18. Also, we use ynab, and I have categories for Christmas gifts, birthday gifts, gifts for others, work related gifts/meals etc. it takes the sting out when at least some (ideally all, but I wouldn’t have had $1000 set aside) of the money is already budgeted and I don’t have to worry about finding money for bills. Can you save a certain amount each month and before Christmas let him know how much is in the budgeted categories?
  19. Been there done that! I do the budgeting so when he gets me something I think is overpriced, the budget is what I think of first 😬 Keep the items you haven’t returned yet and wear them often. Don’t save for a special occasion. That will show the appreciation that maybe you initially lacked. He thought you were worth it, so revel in that feeling and not the budget. It’s a bonus that you like the items! 🙂 I did take the last items to the store to get a price correction though. So keeping the item, but not at the full price he paid. It is now on sale. So that helps. Next year, practice your reactions ahead of time for various types of gifts. 🙂.
  20. We do 1000 of Vit C and 50 of Zinc Propinlate (sp?) we also do Quercetin with Bromelain daily (goes with the zinc), and add NAC if exposed or feeling sick. keep up on magnesium and B as well.
  21. We don’t have restrictions, but you may be able to adapt. Is there GF rice? Tonight we are doing Korean beef (ground beef) over rice with veggies. You can stretch ground beef a long way. Other ideas- chicken fettuccine, heavy on the pasta. Chicken fried rice with lots of veggies. Chicken and veggie fajitas, heavy on the veggies. I have 3 teens, so I try to make hearty sides to stretch the meat or have the meat over pasta/noodles/rice.
  22. Haven’t read others, but I’d be taking our covid protocol supplements with us.
  23. What about covid protocol type supplements? Ex C, zinc, NAC, Quercetin, D3 etc
  24. We’ll up our usage of zinc, Quercetin with bromelain, Vitamin C. Continue our regular vitamins. And add NAC.
  25. Sorry, I use ynab. It had made such a huge difference. I do hate the annual fee and find it expensive, but on the other hand, ynab is so easy to use and seems to save money in other respects. It has alleviated much stress. Curious to see other options though.
