Totally off topic- You all are making me feel better/horrified at the same time about my soon to be 21 year old daughter not driving. Uber is the best/worst thing to be created for her. She is prepared to spend as much money/time on Uber to avoid driving. On topic- I think you are kind caring parents who want the best for your children. It's hard to be on the sidelines and watch them make mistakes. I have been accused of being a helicopter parent and it may be true at times but I have no regrets. Sometimes young adults need a helping hand to guide them. I think you are on the right track and will know when it is time to step back and let him fly or temporarily flop.

All I can recommend is treat them professionally ASAP. My mother did not realize she had bedbugs (or was in denial, her house is antiseptically clean) and had to move out for 30 days to have her home treated. She had to replace her mattress and couch.

This thread made me think of all the times I called. My daughter locked herself in her room. Rental house with huge old doors, took 2 policemen to remove door. I locked my infant son in minivan (I'm still traumatized 17 years later) Neighbor threatening me (turns out he's an alcoholic) My daughter got her fingers stuck in garage door Home alone with very young kids and nearly passing out Lastly, police came to my door late at night nearly breaking it down. I didn't know it was police, just heard pounding so called 911. They verified it was police (who never announced themselves). They were at the wrong house!!!!

I think I spent about $2000 on my daughters bed. I bought it when she was 5 and she is about to turn 21. It's a full size. It was beautiful when we bought it and we love it just as much today. It's from Ethan Allen. When she moves out I am fairly certain she will take it with her. I personally would not spend so much on furniture with a kids theme that they will outgrow/get bored with.

I dont expect my daughter will get married before she is 30. She is extremely focused on school (BS Nursing), getting her Masters and PhD. As she tells all interested parties, school is her #1 priority.

Even if you just go for one night you can use waterpark for 2 days. We have been to one in Poconos many times, but never paid $500/night. My kids love the waterpark but they have the most uncomfortable beds.

Your not alone, I despise flying. I have talked to pilots in the airport and quizzed them about turbulence and stuff. They probably thought I was nuts but it made me feel better. A good book/audiobook, tv show and some unhealthy snacks and the time will fly by.
