  1. :iagree: :iagree: :iagree: :iagree: :iagree: have to stop my self from shouting, "Control your young!!!" to people in public.
  2. I don't think all bell ringers are creepy, but I do avoid my nearest Wal-Mart because one of the ringer there is super duper creepy. Like as in, I used to go to church with and always did what I could to make sure I never ended up in a room alone with him creepy.
  3. We have a sit on the counter holder (box type thing) It keeps my husband and me from changing it each time we go. He likes over, I like under.
  4. That actually would weird me out. I love the fact that now that we live in the middle of a bunch of farmland, Google does not have a street view of our house. You see more cow pasture in the satellite picture than our actual yard.
  5. I absolutely love the muppets version. I also love Patrick Stewart's version. Which one I choose to watch depends on if my husband is watching or not. (He HATES the muppets and loves Jon Luv Picard)
  6. Gosh me too!!! My husband cracks sexist jokes quite frequently (only at home, mind you, he's really not a jerk) and I tell him I am the only woman that would have married him because of that
  7. The smaller the dog, the more I dislike it. (except for the behemoth thing that gets in my trash cans) Sometimes i think fast food would beat home cooked just so I can have a break from cooking I love Circus Peanuts. The orange fluffyish candy things I don't like at least half my facebook friends, but I am either related to them or have known them a really long time so I feel like deleting them would be rude I live in Alabama and I.don't.care.who.wins.the.Iron.Bowl!!!! Johnny Depp is creepy Coffee, both the taste and the smell disgust me :ack2:
  8. I kind of like all the cooking and baking and hosting. Don't get me wrong, I like to take a nap when it is all over, but I think holidays are special. Special yimes times just call for special meals.
  9. Most years we eat off china and use the good silver for Thanksgiving, but not this year. My husband has to work and I don't particularly want to be doing dishes all night by myself. Chinet is just fine. It's the food that is served and the loved surrounding that matters, not the dish.
  10. My youngest son is the oops in our home. He is precious and our family would not be complete without him.
  11. My husband has hearing problems, so CC has saved many a movie/tv show experience. Otherwise, we have to turn it up so loud my oldest son and I are uncomfortable.
  12. My 16yo is the same way. He has been taught, all his life, to have manners. (we are southern, after all)He just does not seem to be able to use them with actual people. Calling him out in front of people just makes things worse. We try before social getherings to remind him to make eye contact, speak when spoken to, etc. but sometimes certain situations overwhelm him and he forgets everything.
  13. Same thing here. We decided after one of them that we can like The Fox, but not listen to any more of their songs.
  14. My kids have started playing fairly recently. My 10 year old likes it more than my 12 year old. There are a lot of games that are innocent. We have not seen any any inappropriate things yet.

    Praying for your recovery :grouphug:
  16. Mystery Men!!! It's my FAVORITE super hero movie of all time. We quote lines from it all the time at our house. If ever slip up and do it around other people, we get some weird looks Move Over Darling. It's an old Doris Day/James Garner movie. My kids even like it. Willow. Big Fish. It always make me think of my daddy. I was actually watching that movie one day, and when it got to the scene where the lead character dies, and thought, Daddy's dying right now. He actually was. I couldn't watch the movie for a while. Now it is bittersweet. I agree with whomever said Secondhand Lions and Hidalgo.
  17. http://revmegdad.wordpress.com/2013/09/25/9-reasons-i-love-my-church/ The above is a blog post my husband wrote on some of the reasons that we LOVE our church. Like the OP, I wish I could get everyone I know to attend my church. We aren't anything fancy, but we are sincere. The teaching that goes on at my church is beyond anything I ever thought we would find. I had basically given up on finding a Biblical, God-centered church. Every where that we went for a while seemed to be more concerned with music than with teaching. (keep in mind, I am not saying a church should not have good music-just that should not be their priority) My husband is a minister. After we left our previous church, he got several calls to come to other churches. most of them were churches that wanted light, fluffy kind of preaching. After we visited our current church, he decided he would rather be a nobody in a good church, instead of a pastor in a bad church. The people we go to church with are so nice, loving and genuine. If someone asks how you are, they really want to know-it's not just "How are you?" as they keep walking by. ETA: I forgot to mention the youth group. Our youth pastor is a really great guy. The youth in our church are treated like they matter now, not just some time in the future. (I don't know how many churches I have heard say The young people are the church are the church of tomorrow) There is not any of the acting stupid and ungodly that goes on in some groups. They do have fun, but not by doing things that ought not to be done. (sorry, I have been around around tooo many bad youth groups in my day)
  18. When my oldest was two, my husband and I gave him a box of socks. He had been getting ours out of our drawers and playing with them. That was his favorite present that year. After opening them, he gathered them in his arms and started to the door to leave. Same kid at three asked for a flyswatter for Christmas. His reason: To keep the bugs of my carrots. I had to do a LOT of explaining that year that he saw it on Winnie the Pooh and Christmas Too. We did NOT have a problem with bugs in our home.
  19. Not trying to hijack the thread but, my oldest son was prescribed an antihistamine called Periactin about a year ago to help with his migraines. He has gone from almost every day having one to maybe 3 in the last 8-9 months.
  20. We like to subscribe when the current season of Once Upon a Time is going and then cancel. We also watch other stuff when we have it, but it is not a big deal when we don't. We have never had the problem of it freezing. Sometimes it seems t take FOREVER for it to connect, but we have that problem with Amazon prime videos, too.
  21. LOVE this show!! i was the same age as Kevin, as well, and had a huge crush on him back in the day. My family watched it as soon as it came to Netflix.
  22. We are in the same boat. Only we don't have Kroger. It's Foodland and Piggley-Wiggley. I had no idea boys could eat so much and eat all.the.time. My kids are all very slim, but they can pack away the food like nothing I have ever seen. I shudder to think how much they would eat of they were involved in sports.
