  1. Ended up with a couple inches of snow staying on the ground so will do indoor work. Donation pick up truck will be driving around taking curbside pick ups Thursday so I need to go through "stuff" to start and sort. Need to sort through all my homeschool books and decide what to sell or donate. Learn how to sell them. Continue and finish editing at least 1 more video for my Hx group and post on the website Watch Shang-Chi and the legend of the ten rings with 2 ds tonight.
  2. Cases are really rising fast here. The newspaper headline was how the hospital is full and the news channel lead is "We are at the crisis level of 2020 but without the same level of covid precautions in place" And even with that info the only place requiring masks are Dr's offices.
  3. While I was looking at Noat, which I had never heard of but so cute I saw Alegria brand and they have cute boots too.
  4. Birkenstock has many styles of boots. red wing shoes has cute women’s boots- some are expensive.
  5. Put storm windows on, move outdoor bench under eaves, put in snow poles so plow won’t dig up yard, put heater in bird bath, finished at 1:45 snowing at 2:00. moving on to laundry, and cleaning bathrooms.
  6. There was the information line where you would dial their 3 digit number and a person would answer and you could ask for a person or company phone number and they would give you the number. This is still available for $2.00 or free with certain disabilities so I just looked and 411 is still available even for cell phones according to Verizon and you can get info on: local national directory assistance, international assistance, reverse look up, yellow pages, and movie look up.
  7. My kids couldn’t imagine when I told them at midnight the tv would play the national anthem with a picture of the flag blowing in the wind and when the song was over it was just static till the next morning! No tv channels after midnight!! It was the worst!!
  8. I grew up wearing sorrel boots however have switched to Baffin boots. Baffin is still made in Canada. Also have my eye on mukluks. I did notice a change in sorel several years ago when they were bought out. I like the fit of Baffin better than The new Sorels

  12. If you have a marvel fan a new book set was just released “The story of Marvel Studios” I just got one for a gift for ds and it’s really nice.
  13. I have positive experience with this site. They have skins aka big stickers for cell phones, tablets, laptops. You can chose from their huge assortment or design your own. Plus they are having 25% off sale now. https://www.decalgirl.com/
  14. I gave a personalized framed world map as a gift and the couple really enjoy it. I had a really positive experience with this company. https://geojango.com/
  15. Has the time of tot changed? I was doing yardwork around 2:30 and saw parents in costume pulling wagons with little kids going around the neighborhood door to door. There were 4-5 different groups that I saw at this time then at 5:15 large groups of people out. In the past it was usually around 7-7:30 when the first groups would go around. We haven't had any tot for past 3-4 years so wasn't anticipating any this year, I kept lights off, and still had groups coming to the door, but at 5:15 they probably couldn't tell the lights were off. lol
  16. We are a tall family and have a hard time finding couches that are comfortable as well but for a different reason. Most of the couches we have found are so low to the ground that it is really uncomfortable to get in and out. We have even had to replace the feet or legs of the couch to raise it up higher. Sofa seat depth can vary a lot, most are 21-24 but here a a couple that are 19 and 20. https://www.wayfair.com/furniture/pdp/serta-at-home-copenhagen-rolled-arm-sofa-w001121318.html https://www.potterybarn.com/products/cameron-upholstered-roll-arm-sofa-collection/?pkey=ccameron-sofas-sectionals When you're in the store measure the seat and try to find one that is shallow. Sometimes the formal LR furniture happens to be more shallow than informal furniture. Then you can see if the 19 or 20 inch works better for you.
  17. I always used cardboard as well, when I was up young.
  18. We used to get a hundred kids plus from all different neighborhoods with parents driving them in then about 3 years ago the schools started having afternoon and evening Halloween programs for kids and families. With those school activities going on we have had zero kids.
  19. From the Midwest and never heard of this. We did have gnocchi - pasta made from potatoes.
  20. I have an “I touch less” sensor garbage can and really like it. It is stainless and doesn’t show fingerprints- but you don’t really touch it anyway. Regular kitchen bags fit it. It has a ring that holds the bags in and an odor pack that is replaceable inside. I use batteries but it can be plugged in if near power. They come in different shapes and colors.
  21. I know a lot of life alert companies advertise that they’ll pass along information, but after 15 years as a paramedic and dispatcher, I’ve never once gotten information from one of them except perhaps a key location or door code. Thats to bad that it doesn’t work for your area. It worked really well in my area. The responders here got the medical history, current meds, allergies, contact info and passcodes for the doors and who the main Dr in charge of care was. The company also called me and I could listen and be involved . I knew several of the responders and when I asked about the different options they told me which ones were more thorough. I was glad to hear first hand that they got all the info before arriving at the house.
  22. My parents had a “file of life” information cards and alert stickers. The stickers were attached to all the entry doors so that any emergency responders knew to look on the fridge where the file of life sleeve with info was attached to front of fridge door. https://www.folife.org/about/ I had also contacted the er staff and ambulance staff about medical alert bracelets that had info inside either paper or computer and I was told they would not put computer, like a really small thumb drive into their computer and that the small paper would not work well. so the file of life worked well until a life alert was needed. With life alert you can store more medical info and the responders receive the info en route.
  23. I would check the city website. Our website has the city council agenda online and recordings of past meetings online. You can learn of any issues and developments that may be planned.
  24. I will add another line ”In a golden cage on a winters day in the rain “ released same year as Beatles “here comes the sun” answer: “White bird” by Its a Beautiful Day
