  1. Just fyi, FLL 1 and 2 are mostly oral. And yes, this is little to no prep time. FLL 3 and 4 are not mostly oral. I couldn't tell if you wanted something simple for all 4 years or just this year. Hth
  2. For a school probably c-rods for math. I think when my kids were 3 I just help them count their snacks, cheeze-it, etc. Then at the age of 4, adding one or two. For LA, I'D imagine just reading to them and a trip to story time would be sufficient. How about five in a row curriculum? I try doing some stuff from it with my kids who are 5 1/2 and 4. Hth.
  3. Thanks Hunter. Well the place should not only give you your refund, but a discount as well. :) I don't know enough about paypal to give advice.
  4. Sorry I misread the topic. :) My husband clarified. lol
  5. ouch! Can I ask which homeschool site this is? Are you at liberty to say? Either way I hope you get this resolved soon!
  6. Thank you Holly. Sorry that you have to be the middle person. I guess I need to follow the threads that I make comments on to prevent this again. Much appreciated for your time. :)
  7. Thanks Holly, Sorry, but I don't know how to pm. can Chris use this thread? I don't do facebook either. have a page, but that's it. How can I help?
  8. Oh sorry just saw pentime. How about squeezing in fun time! :)
  9. Looks good. How about handwriting or logic books? Good luck! You are one busy mama!
  10. I would try fun activities. Like kitchen math (never used it but hear it's fun) or science experiments. Then for phonics perhaps logic of english or all about reading. Hth
  11. The 3 sentences could be a sensory overload. How about trying one sentence at a time? Or covering up the other sentences. I just realized that that's how my son likes it. I also agree with a pp. My son is a lot happier after we play chase or he plays on the wii. That's when he'll get his lessons done.
  12. I say go ahead and do it for both. It can help with reading. I'm doing it for my 5 1/2. It takes about 15 mins and little to no prep time. If I remember correctly so far it's just 3 letter words or also with words like beach. Or you could wait til next year. I think a lot of people wait until the 3rd grade. Or if you don't have time spend 2 years doing it. Hth
  13. I'm no expert, but these are my thoughts. There might be a placement test on the website. I'm about halfway into level 1 and so far it's just 3 letter words. You may want to ask the author as well. She has a forum on her website. Hth
  14. I agree with the pp. Use it as a spine and read the living books to help yourself. I have a hard time with the concepts as well. I use it and real science odyssey as a supplement. Just to get the ball rolling I guess. My son loves experiments. Of course my kids r younger than yours so I do have time to play around....... On another note, I don't know if this will help , but someone on tbis forum mentioned a book titled exploratopia that she uses along with bfsu. I think that may have extra experiments. Hth
  15. This what I hear: aar is for kinesthetic learners who like to do activities with their hands and loe is for kinesthetic learners who like to jump/move around. Is lesson 51 about halfway? I was about halfway through phonics pathways when I learned that he is a kinesthetic learner. I am combining aar with pp and it's a lot of work. Just thought I'd let u know that before u jump ship. At this point in time I've slowed down the lessons and have him read out loud. Hth
  16. Does he move around a lot? If so, then All about reading or logic of english may be a better fit. Those programs r for kinesthetic learners. Or what I've been doing is finding books that he can read (like the bob books). I need to look into I see sam books. I hear they are like bob books. Anyhow, I think my child wants to read something interesting. For example, just by accident I found a book titled "Moving Day" at the library and he wanted to read that one on his own. Step into reading level one may be a good fit. I think for my child he wants to stop the phonics lessons and read books that he picks out. There's also a reason why I've slow down the lessons and wanting him to start reading out loud but I can't pinpoint why. Possibly to apply what he knows so he knows why he's doing phonucs lessons. Hth
  17. Well, I went ahead and bought the proclick p50. I was just too excited to get organized! I ordered spines too and made sure it said proclick spines. :)
  18. Skeeterbug, which proclick do you have: 1. GBC ClickMan Click Binder2. p50 3. p110? Thanks!
  19. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm, interesting. So, there's a proclick, a comb binder, and the cinch. Is there anything else out there? lol The cinch sounds good too. i'll look into it as well. Thank you for your suggestion!
  20. I hear logic of english is like aar and is cheaper. I don't use it so I don't know what level she'd be in. Hth
