My kids have done their Biology, Chemistry, bits of Earth Science, and are currently doing Physics. The Biology course is excellent and was my kids' favorite. For a 5th grader I'd recommend starting with Earth Science which is free and will give you a good idea if you like the format.

If you like podcasts you should check out the Wiser World podcast. She has a "Last 100 Years in..." series–so far she's done Russia, Ukraine, China, Taiwan, Iran, North Korea. I think it could be used as a concise summary before/after you study each country more in depth. -

Was it Piecing Me Together? I think it's in the Senior Year Reading thread. -
Another vote for Science Mom. My kids took Biology 1 and 2 last year and loved it. We are also signed up for Chemistry Club in the fall. She has a free Earth Science curriculum as well, and I believe a couple units from Biology are free to watch on YouTube.

Audible has some Audible Originals for kids that are narrated by a full cast--Interview with the Robot, Riley Mack, and the Zero G series. Restart by Gordon Kramer is also full-cast narration and very well done. The Hero's Guide series narrated by Bronson Pinchot and The Wizards of Once series narrated by David Tennant are repeated listens for my kids. -
If you want to stick with an online class, you might consider the Middle School French class also at AIM. It's supposed to cover the same material as a French 1 class but spread out over two years. The slower pace may help her be more successful.

The Lazy Genius has a really good Food in a Bowl series from a few years ago. There's a transcript of the episodes if you'd rather read than listen.

Have you seen the DK Maker Lab books? We have and like the original one which includes a good mix of kitchen, home, and outdoor projects. There are a couple other books in the series too, like Maker Lab Outdoors and Star Wars.

Echo Mountain by Lauren Wolk checks all your boxes. My DD11 loved it so much she listened to it twice. The Wild Robot series is also good on audio. -

Your 11-year old might like Invincible Microbe by Jim Murphy. I haven’t read it but it’s scheduled in one of the Build Your Library levels. -

If she enjoyed How to Train Your Dragon you should definitely listen to the Wizards of Once and its sequel by the same author. My kids listen to The Hero’s Guide series by Christopher Healy on repeat. Other favorites on audio have been Dragon Rider by Cornelia Funke, the Peter Nimble and Sophie Quire books, and the Gregor the Overlander series. -

The latest favorites for my 5 as 8-year old have been Finn Family Moomintroll and Dominic. They also loved Flora and Ulysses but we listened to the audio for that one.
